 | Forum Reply | Results in the next few games are going to be very important now, I think at 22:40 1 Sep 2025
Agreed. Some people were calling for McKenna's head after Saturday, so if you add the fact that some fan favourite players have now moved on - if results dont pick up soon then the pressure on McKenna will crank up. Its time to get behind the team and for new heroes & fan favourites to emerge! |

Indeed. There have been times in the past when it looked like I would never see Premier League football at Portman Road live (wasnt quite old enough for a season ticket in 2000/2001), and although it was a tougher watch than many expected, it was good to see the club I love mix it up with some of the best clubs/players in the world. Hopefully, Premier League football will return sooner rather than later to Portman Road and we must all get behind this squad as best we can in the hope they can bring us success. |
 | Forum Reply | Can anyone explain why Chaplin started on Saturday ? at 17:35 1 Sep 2025
I wonder if Chaplin started so that when he was subbed off he would gesture as though he was leaving so we could give him a massive round of applause, but because of the way the game was going, he ended up sprinting off when subbed so didnt get his "moment". If not like you and others have said, its quite strange. |
 | Forum Reply | Wouldn’t life be easier if we’d never had those ruddy promotions. at 17:33 1 Sep 2025
In hindsight (and this has been said a lot particularly over the last couple of seasons), we would have spent a couple of seasons building in the Championship before being promoted to the Premier League. Going back to back was amazing and we were all riding the crest of the wave of success, but it seems there is no time for sentimentality now and McKenna needs to get these players clicking and fast |

I think the problem is that because we havent started the season on fire, it makes these exits more painful because the players leaving like Woolfie & Chappers were part of a successful team, whereas a lot of the players remaining at the club are yet to "set the world alight". In time hopefully we will all see that a change was the right thing, however IMO the pressure has just been cranked up a little more on McKenna & the players to get the results and performances we all want, especially now that "fan favourites" are going. Nothing lasts forever unfortunately. |

This would upset me more than Woolfie going to be honest. Chaplin has to stay! |
 | Forum Reply | 12 Million...... at 12:53 1 Sep 2025
No problem with having a debate or discussion etc, but the fact we paid £12 million for him seems to get brought up in every thread at some point. Some people need to let it go and accept it. That was the point I was making thats all. |
 | Forum Thread | 12 Million...... at 12:32 1 Sep 2025
The way people keep harping on about Ipswich spending £12 million on McAteer is though it came out of their pockets rather than the clubs! How about get over it, he's our player now and maybe get behind him and the team perhaps? |

I think we should test the resolve of our 6 fingered friends again for Sergeant - that really would but the cat amongst the budgies if we could pull that off! Doubt it would happen though to be honest! |

If that did happen, who would be your choice to take over? Seems Danny Rohl is high up on a lot of people's lists. For what its worth, I don't think McKenna will be sacked just yet, not just after we've recruited new players for him to integrate, however he will be under pressure soon if results dont pick up after the international break. |
 | Forum Thread | Were we?? at 23:27 30 Aug 2025
Were we actually that bad today? I'd argue that Derby disrupted our play by their time wasting tactics, but when we did pass the ball around we did create a fair few chances and looked quite good. The second Derby goal was poor from us....our defence seemed to part like the red sea from where I sit at PR. Obviously the referee played his part as well. Derby will argue that Leif could have been sent off for that handball, but we will argue that Travis should have been sent off for kicking Cajuste, and also had an earlier penalty for the clear foul on Hirst. Just because we didnt get 3 points doesnt mean we played badly in my opinion. Those calling for McKenna's head now need to give their heads a wobble. Whilst I agree that we will need to start getting wins on the board soon, I cant see McKenna being sacked after the club buying players im guessing he wanted. This international break has come at a good time for us - it will give McKenna the chance to work on things and integrate the newbies into how we play, and hopefully we will pick up that elusive win against Sheff Utd next time out. We should be getting behind the club now rather than moaning about signings and wanting McKenna out! Remember folks, follow the Town, up or down! |
 | Forum Reply | Awful performance at 20:31 23 Aug 2025
IMO I think (and obviously hope) we will see a big improvement once the transfer window is closed and after the first International break. Whilst today was frustrating and we looked toothless, I believe we have the players to mount a serious promotion challenge come the end of the season, however we havent won in 143 days now, and this must be addressed soon! FTR - IF you are the "Supporter" that was shouting derogatory slurs at Jack Clarke from the moment the referee blew for kick off.....please dont come again. Yes he didnt have a good game today and clearly lacks confidence but the clue is in the word "supporter" - you are meant to SUPPORT your team regardless of how they are doing. Remember - follow the Town, up or down! |

I wonder if its got to the point where the club have lost patience with Omari, especially after the other night and the "not feeling like he could participate" fiasco, and therefore are accepting a slightly lower than expected fee just to get him out of the club? Either way this needs to be resolved so hopefully this transfer will go smoothly and then McKenna can focus on the lads that actually want to contribute on the pitch! |

My partner said to me this morning "How do you cope with loss after loss" (She is a bit of a glory hunter as she only started coming to games with me the season before we got promoted from League 1). I just replied and said that I've witnessed performances where you could visibly see the players look like they don't care or want to be playing for the club, so considering that for the majority of games we have lost over the last season, at least you could see the players "giving it a go" then although frustrating to lose it is at least tolerable. Was last night's performance really that bad? Frustrating yes but we dominated play (as you would expect against lower league opposition) but we created chances and got minutes into fringe players. Unfortunately exiting the cup early on to lower league sides is the norm for Ipswich. I get that Bromley made changes as well and that makes the result even worse in some aspects, but lets face it - what's more important to us - a good cup run or promotion? The most disappointing thing for me from last night was the news about Hutchinson and not wanting to contribute. It just leaves a sour taste in everyone's mouths. Anyway, how does the chant go: Follow the Town, up or down? or in this case, Follow the Town in or out. COYBs |
 | Forum Reply | KM can't be more upfront about hutch at 23:19 12 Aug 2025
Disappointed in Hutch but he's been smart by telling McKenna he didnt want to play tonight - making out its because his head isnt in it, but clearly doing it to avoid being cup tied. He has the potential to be the Championship's best player if he stays, but for me he has been too affected by transfer talk now to really feature for Ipswich again. Good luck to the lad, but this situation needs to be dealt with asap because its having a detrimental effect on everyone now! |

If true it makes you wonder why HH hasnt just turned us down (unless he has and the club just havent reported it it) |
 | Forum Reply | Hackney at 14:13 1 Aug 2025
Its a strange one isn't it. On the one hand you cant blame the lad for wanting a move to a Premier League side and like his ambition, however if reports are to be believed and we are prepared to offer him a decent wage with the added caveat of being one of the favourites for promotion then you wonder why he isn't chomping at the bit to come here. What will be will be I guess! |
