Lowestoft Town FC 25/26 kit vote
at 20:20 23 Feb 2025

Lowestoft are my "2nd team" and they arguably have more connections with Town than the Budgies. Terry Butcher is club president, their former chairman used to be a Town season ticket holder before joining the LTFC board, they have had George Burley and Russell Osman down for "evening with" fundraisers (none from Norwich) and have had numerous loanees from us over the years (Harry Barbrook being a notable success this season). Like most border towns, the Ipswich/Norwich supporter split is about 50/50 but our 20+ years out of the Prem had an obvious negative effect on the balance of support but there are def more Blue shirts in the Town now then 3-4 years ago.

Win percentage as a fan
at 23:00 11 Oct 2023

I have kept extensive records of all the games I have been to:

Including friendlies I have been to 816 Ipswich games (740 home, 76 away)
W: 385 D: 205: L 226 GF: 1304 GA: 932

Biggest win 8-1 v Avenir Beggin Biggest Loss: 0-7 v Chelsea

I have just started compiling a spreadsheets for attendances, I'm up to 2020 - so still have 3 more years to enter and Interestingly (to me at least), the total attendances for games at Portman Road is just over 12 million with an average attendance of 17459. This will only continue to rise is the current performances continue. The average for away games is 14492.

Per competition:
Top Tier: 95 Games 2nd Tier: 524 Games 3rd Tier: 49 Games FA Cup: 34 Games, League Cup: 44 games

Top 5 Players I have seen the most:
Mick Stockwell - 263
Luke Chambers - 172
Simon Milton - 161
Richard Wright: - 159
Richard Naylor - 151

Top 5 Goalscorers
Daryl Murphy - 41
Chris Kiwomya - 37
Alex Mathie - 36
Pablo Counago - 35
David Johnson 32

Glad I'm not the only saddo who keeps records!!

World cup style injury time.
at 22:56 5 Aug 2023

i suppose it's like everything, you can't please everyone. Living in Lowestoft and finishing work at 6pm, I would never get to an evening game on time if it kicked off at 7pm. Also, with me working 1 in 3 Saturdays, I happy when games sometimes switch from a Saturday to a Fri/Sun for TV if it falls on a Saturday I'm working, but I know this is a big bugbear for some people.
With regards the added time, I'm all for it Also, refs cracking down on any form of sh*thousery. My son plays hockey at a decent level and cards are handed out regularly for not retreating for a free hit or any form of backchat to the umpires. It's just accepted that you will be punished and therefore, discipline is so much better as a result. The powers that be have let it go on for far too long in football and I fear the horse bolted a long time ago with them trying to stamp it out, but I live in hope!!

Who was the keeper?
at 12:03 28 Jan 2023

I remember Clough's last game well. I had broken my leg earlier in the season, so had my season ticket moved to the front tier of the West Stand right down by the tunnel so I didnt have far to walk with my crutches. Consequently I had a great view as Clough made his entrance onto the pitch before the match. In true Cloughie style he milked it as the numerous photographers scrambled to get the best shot. Then from nowhere a elderly lady who must have been in her 80s came to the front of the stand and handed him a bouquet of flowers and gave him a kiss. Truely bizarre

So what's the current list of 'possible replacements'
at 19:22 31 Jan 2021

We probably won't get him because he's not out of work atm, but I really rate Darren Moore. Unlucky to be sacked by WBA. Doing a good job with Donny.

Dozzell (Snr) - best game in a town shirt?

The 4-2 win over Leeds in the first season of the PL always sticks in my mind. Warky and Doz both scored that day and we were superb
