Avoid Queues at Colchester
at 12:58:15

People who accuse Col Utd when complaining about "building a stadium in the wrong place, with lack of parking, etc" are ill informed and hitting out at the wrong target.

The stadium and the land it stands on, do not belong to Col U and are not theirs to do with what they like. They only rent it from the owners - Colchester Council. Col Utd have no control whatsoever over how much car parking, access, etc are provided. In fact they have ongoing bitter battles with an intransigent Council that is far more interested in keeping the surrounding NIMBY residents happy - who are constantly complaining about traffic and "noise/light pollution" from a football ground they did not want on their door step in the first place.

So, before you hit out at a club stuck with what they have got and pretty powerless to improve the situation, you'd better be grateful that ITFC are in a more fortunate position re. ground ownership and control. Not every club is.

For those who whinge about a £1.50 return shuttle bus fare between Colchester rail station and ground : Remind me how much Ipswich Buses charge for just a single adult fare?!

Oh and Talbs77 - I too would like to attend some (and far more important)evening games but cannot due to work commitments that prevent me from getting there in time. Like many others who value their jobs over their fun. Tough, isn't it.
