This is the team we were promised at the start of the season now that they are being properly coached & allowed to go forwards.

I really like Paul Cook and was pleased with his appointment based on his previous track record but I do wonder how much of his past success was down to having a great assistant manager (Liam Richardson). It does seem to have been a complete repetition of the Paul Lambert management career - great with a good assistant (Ian Culverhouse) but terrible since they parted ways.
Never like seeing anyone sacked and really wanted (and thought) that we would succeed with PC in charge but there was something seriously wrong and I was never convinced with is appointment of his 'mates' as assistant 'coaches' (coaches being a very loose word for what they actually brought to the table). |

Where was the urgency and must win fighting spirit which we hear about in every interview the players give after each disappointing result we have had to endure for the whole of this season. The players can talk a good game when they speak about how they need to improve for the next game but I am beyond believing or caring what any of our players have to say after that display today. We will not get promoted this season and need a major change to the core of the squad for next season. The only positive is that I will be saving some money by not wasting a tenner on iFollow for the rest of this season! |

So we have the manager saying how great we were today & he couldn't ask any more from the team...
...and the captain saying this wasn't good enough...
...and the owner saying he can see green shoots of recovery.
& Lambert accuses the media of stoking all the negativity from the fans - as if we aren't clever enough to see how absolutely dreadful we are at the moment.
Lambert really does live in his own little universe where all is rosy & there is nothing to worry about.
