maybe if someone ever came up with a decent defence, he wouldn't have to keep challenging people on it! |

i see what you're saying, but her lawyers will have weighed all this up and will have advised her whether to plead guilty or for mitigation; her posting history does suggest that the views were consistently held (although slightly less murderous). i think there does have to be a change in the way discourse is held online and a crackdown on the dangerous extremes and unfortunately that means examples will be made to change behaviour. that said, i'm always in favour of rehabilation over pure punishment, so there should be a mechanism for reducing this. agree with the second para |

the debts are a possibility, and you're right everyone's circumstances are different. for me, the fact remains that if you were offering me a decent pay rise and my family were secure, i would look at job satisfaction and personal ethics over money. i know that puts me in a fortunate position compared with many. if the £400 was working for esso and £100 was greenpeace*, i'd take the £100. where do is sign up! (*i'm not equating arsenal with greenpeace!) |

having seen this post advertised on onceablue's thread, i can only conclude that onceablue's was far dafter and we should stop bumping this one to the top of the page. |

if you give wwz a big enough mandate, he'll be able to nationalise blur too. may be able to get them on the same bill if oasis are struggling to sell out the venues on their own... some good music and a bit of pantomime drama thrown in! |

i vote wwz! while you're nationalising oasis, could you also nationalise and protect those small venues? just checked; i paid £6 for oasis at the duchess of york in '94, so £5 might be unrealistic! |
