Pessimistic. Problem is that doesn't Jason have a clause in his contract that if he starts too many more games that invokes a clause in his contract that gives him another year. Whilst i for one would like him to stay i think with the wage cuts that are coming i think he will be on shanks's pony at the end of the season.
Spoke with a mate of mine who is a Jambo's season ticket holder and this is what he had to say about Ryan Stevenson and i quote "Aye,half decent,Rick.Don't think we knew where to play him.Played up front but i don't think it suited him.Midfielder,through the middle...hope he does well,left us in a bit of a huff.Seems a decent bloke."
Could be a good player if PJ plays him in the right position
Very good blog. I for one am fed up of us signing average journeyman mercenaries the only decent signing that we have made this season has been Cresswell. He seems to have a bit of passion about him and seems genuinely wanting to play for us and coincidently he has been our best player. The rest of them that have been bought in aren't fit to clean the boots of some of our great former players. All i ask for is a bit of loyalty and the passion that this great club deserves. I have been supporting Ipswich since 1975 and used to go regularly. I have only been occasionally for the last few years as there is nothing there. No passion and i am not just talking about the players either. There is no atmosphere at PR any more. I can remember when it used to be deafening in the north stand but not any more.
I don't know why we don't scout much in Europe. Apart from the obvious countries there are some great players out there that wouldn't come with the sort of price tag we are forced to pay over here. Most teams know we have some money and hold out for sh!tloads. Countries like France, Belgium, Holland, Portugal & also Scandinavia & Eastern Europe. If we have so many scouts why not send a couple to the continent.
Didn't Asmir Begovic also represent Canada at some level or other? we have a good history with Canadian players. Probably more than any other european club.
