| News Comment | Downes Could Be Sent Out on Loan If Palace Successful in Pursuit at 10:07:49
What bugs me are these additional clauses. It puts the gamble of a players future at the feet of the selling club. In this example, we get the £4M off the bat but we may never get the additional £1M if he never reaches these milestones through his development stalling, injury or team selections. The same with a sell-on clause, what if he spends the rest of his career at Palace? If Palace want him then pay the £5M (or more if we can get it) and he's your problem. If he gets injured, or falls out of favour with the manager, we are not hit in the pocket. Palace want him, they take the gamble and not us!! Rant over!! PS - I'm sure these deals are more complex than this PPS - I want him to stay |
| News Comment | Town Complete Quaner Loan Signing at 09:34:16
I read an article that we were signing a forward from "free-scoring Huddersfield". I guess they meant to write "free-scoring compared to Ipswich Town.." But even that isn't true. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Need a Cutting Edge Up Top at 21:51:20
Jermain Defoe is currently scratching his butt waiting for game time. Peter Crouch has taken a break from podcasting (it's quite good, worth a listen). These are the sorts of players that might fancy 6 months of first team football. Probably also want to load their retirement savings too. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Didn't Do Enough in Both Boxes at 22:18:23
Paul, by all means defend your players but please let us know if your instruction to Nolan was to pass to the opposition. Keeping the ball is a fairly simple task and we consistently fail at it. I had binned this game off as a defeat but that was a poor show. Add in that Bolton and Millwall did us no favours. Still within touching distance. Keeping the faith until evens shows us the colour of his money. |

Great move. Would also have like some of the younger players to have been involved, Matt Holland maybe? Perhaps he needs to stay impartial due to his media work. |
| News Comment | Klug: Very Different Time to Be in Charge at 15:30:36
Mr Klug, you are slowly getting legendary status at our club. While we need points, a decent passionate performance with no mistakes is probably all most fans would ask for right now. |
| News Comment | Town Agree Fee for Posh Winger Edwards at 18:58:05
Friend of mine is a Posh fan and is totally gutted. Best player there last season. In his words we gave signed a gem of a player. |

Marcus Evans - you need to keep this guy sweet. Shirt sales will go through the roof if he keeps pulling stunts like that. |
| News Comment | Town: We Have Conducted Ourselves Under EFL Guidelines at 16:01:12
He will have read the press and even if there was no formal or informal approach he would have had time to think things over. Ok, he wouldn't know anything about salary or player budget (lack of) but he could have weighed up his options club for club, prospects for prospects, etc. He will have been concentrating on the playoffs but contrary to my wife's beliefs, blokes CAN multitask. |

What a waste of turf. My garden is full of daisies and it would be my privileged to have a lawn made from the hallowed PR turf! |
| News Comment | Town Granted Permission to Speak to St Mirren Boss as Interviews Continue at 13:44:39
Might be worth a punt but managing a side in the second level of Scottish football can't be that difficult with a club like St Mirren can it? Pitting your wits against Brechin, Dumbarton and Greenock Morton for example. Having said that, St Mirren only won 1 game in the last five. I guess by then they had won the league so were already on the beach. If we are looking to Scotland, Neil Lennon is leaving Hibs. |
| News Comment | Klug: Great Experience for Nash and Hogg at 09:22:35
Only getting to watch a few first team games a season must be what sucks about being one of the development staff, always elsewhere watching other matches, trying to find talent. But then over the last couple of years, I think many of us would have preferred watching Diss Town, Needham Market or Walsham-le-Willows. |

Don't forget they dumped us out of the Semi-finals on the way to the Milk Cup in 1985, or is that trophy not worth a star? :-D |
