 | News Comment | Burns: My Role This Year is Slightly Different at 12:50:02
Feels like Burns and Broadhead have been injured most of the season and then getting minutes when coming back from injury. I think it’s only really the last 2-3 games we’ve seen the real WB and NB show up and that’s great for us now. Could have done with them earlier in the season. |
 | News Comment | Godfrey Medical Completed at 21:00:44
He’s played more at left back than right back so I’m confused as to whom he would replace. |
 | News Comment | Dyche: Professional Performance at 22:01:29
McKenna used the word "experience" dyche says "professionalism" i call it time wasting and i dont care about time added on at the end just book them |
 | News Comment | Halajko: Category One a Priority at 13:11:54
From memory, if IF Evans was to be believed, the Premier League clubs set the goalposts for Cat 1 and they kept moving them so much so we missed out by less than 1% last time. But that was a while back, not sure what’s happened since then but surely now being in the PL we can have more influence over the qualifications-and qualify! Sooner the better-would love to see more Ipswich RDC’s in Cambridge than the scum even further up the road! |
 | News Comment | Trotter Training to Become Referee at 13:00:08
Great move. He was always laid back so I’d say he’ll cope well with the modern day whingy footballers. Not sure why more ex players don’t become refs? All too wealthy? |
 | News Comment | Town Reveal New Kits at 17:18:19
Packwood blue my thoughts exactly! I had to double check I hadn’t written that myself! |
 | News Comment | Hull City Centre-Half Greaves Linked at 18:26:13
Did t like him against us-very whingy. I also don’t see why we should help Hull balance their books with an overpriced move! |
 | News Comment | Johnson: A Special Day at 21:18:22
ArnieM-Watford do it with Udinese and to a lesser extent Forrest and Olympiakos. But then you’ve got clubs like Man City who are part of a large group of clubs so it’s easy for the biggest club (city) to both loan players (to girona for example) or buy the best players at a fair market price (again I think they’re buying Savio from Girona). Personally I would see owning a European team as an opportunity to send young players on loan to a less physical league whilst they develop. The premier league is less physical than the championship and league one for example so sometimes young players loans don’t work out as they can’t compete physically |
 | News Comment | Academy Youngster Joins Manchester United at 13:33:32
Always a bit gutted by stories like this. Unless you’re one of the big six it doesn’t matter what category or how good your academy is-it’s hard for players to turn down a move to those clubs |
 | News Comment | Charlton Boss on Omitting Town Loanees at 17:09:22
Loans are part and parcel of football. Charlton have clearly brought in too many like we have in the past. But the lower the league you’re in the more likely you are to need them. So I’d be surprised if after saying that many people want to go there on loan next year. Jones is just a bit useless I suspect he’ll be sacked soon enough (again) |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Watford - Match Report at 07:59:51
I’ve no doubt McKenna will pick the team up but I’m feeling a bit flat still after that. 3 shots straight at the keeper and hit the post-by half time I thought we smelt blood but it wasn’t to be. Our squad depth or lack thereof is showing. Some really tired legs out there having to start the game. Glad we have a 2 week rest after Saturday. Jackson is a trier-god loves a trier-but Burns or Davis he is not and his final ball is always hopeful but not well placed or intentional. Luongo looks knackered and Taylor et al just aren’t cutting it (might have been different had Broady not blocked his shot!) I love chappers but does Hutchinson start at 10 every game now? Positives-Clarke had a great game and we were in control most of the match. Just missing Burns and Hirst Fingers crossed for some more energy and a win on Saturday. Ultimately win our last games and we’re up (dare to dream?!) |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We're Hopeful We Can Add to the Squad By Next Week at 20:47:23
Not sure whether this counts as year 1 for us and what our current books say, but a £20m striker than gets us promoted and can help us stay up (so we don’t need to spend £20m next year) would do nicely. Anyone know of one? ;-) |
 | News Comment | Town Targeting Wimbledon Striker Al-Hamadi at 14:42:11
I watched the video of his highlights having never heard of him before. Seems to have a reasonable amount of pace and strength and scores with both feet. Jackson was a L2 striker now playing for us in the Championship so no reason this lad can’t make the grade either. Also-Peterborough usually have a good eye for strikers so I like the fact they’ve been linked with him! If he’s striker 1 of 2 I’d be happy with that |
 | News Comment | Hutchinson: It's Been Tough But Enjoyable at the Same Time at 10:37:35
I really like him. He’s a bums off seats kind of player. Reminds me a little of Andros Townsend when we had him on loan and he went on to have a pretty decent career. Perhaps a little of gio dos santos about him too where he can make something out of nothing |
 | News Comment | Burns Nominated For Goal of the Month at 13:39:57
Clearly Burns goal is the best but seeing as it’s done by fan vote rather than a panel-he may not get it. Who was the Hull keeper screaming at? His player for losing the ball on the halfway line? Or himself for being miles out of position and then not jumping? keepers are an odd breed |
