How is it that when we hear of modern day footballers on huge money going bankrupt we say "What an idiot, just young punks who don't understand the real world wasting money" but when it comes to Beattie - who A) Is useless and arrogant on the radio, B) Wasted his money on drink C) Couldn't be bothered to use his footballing talent after his playing days (like many coaches/managers etc who are all still earning a living through the sport!) - you all seem to want to help him like a charity. Don't you see, we have already given him a few quid each, hence £9000, and now some of you want to help him...?? Just because someone is a legend at some point in their life, doesn't mean they are for the rest of their life. |

Hoppers blue, very good point you make about both Lansbury and Bolton! I guess my point was that we shouldn't just disregard loans because of past experiences.. Murphy and colback are both good examples of long term loans that have benefited us, and if we can get a good side, then that little extra quality could be pivotal, just like I believe lansbury was to norwich promotion last year. |

Sorry to say this, and I'm not necessarily saying we should get wick ham, but was it not Henri LANSBURY that tore most of the other championship teams apart for Norwich. And he was ON LOAN FROM A PREM TEAM. Some on here are deluded that a good team can't have loan signings in. Yes we need to build the main squad with our own players, unlike last few seasons.. But loan signings to supplement this with quality is v good too. Bolton, IN THE PREM still sign loan signings each year so get real! Secondly, why do you think there is a queue a mile long of championship clubs no doubt for these players?!?! Are all of those managers wrong too and your right? Unbelievable most people on here. |

On another note, is it also perhaps a good thing, as stupid as it may sound that we did lose 5-1 to Norwich and then 4-1to Swansea.... Unlike previous seasons where we have finsihed strongly and so the manager and owner have felt less need for investment, perhaps this summer Marcus evens will have really realised how far behind the top teams we are, and have been for many years now |
