Biggest issue for me is right and left backs are old and have no legs. because we do not play 4 across middle there is no cover in front of them. When an opposing team breaks away down the wing the have one person to beat, a so called wing back. We should either play 3 at the back with 2 wing backs ( KVB amd one other ....Gwion?) or play 4 4 2. Historically When a new manager is appointed they start from the back. sort defense. get 4 in midfield to win ball and help defense. Do not concede. Then push up as a team attack as a team and defend as a team. Get some shape and be difficult yo beat and difficult to play. Am I being too simplistic? |

I am getting bored of watching defenders and midfielders jog about passing left right and backwards. Bored of watching centre forwards (Jackson today) playing out of position out wide. Bored of watching Un imaginative boring slow football with no penetration. Bored of seeing one upfront. Need a change of style. 4 4 2 where defenders defend where they pass throught midfield where the wide players take people on and then actually cross the ball and midfielders actually fill the box. Really dont Know what to say. Missed tonights game out of choice. If truly we were missing the whole midfield then what choice did PL have. We are also missing 2 centre forwards too. Watched most home games this year and simply even when we were top we were not playing well and did not expect to end up in top 6. Feel a little for the manager as the players we have are not good enough.
Defense......Woolife is a good player and will benefit from this year. DO NOT SELL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Donacian get rid. Chambers sorry mate this should be your last season. Coaching role perhaps. Wilson and Earl Ok but need a new Centre back.
Midfield. Huws Bishop Dozell Dozell Rowe keep get rid of rest

How good it was to see a formation. Many times i saw a flat back 4 Skuse in the holding midfield position and ALL other midfielders looking to pass the ball run with the ball and get it up to the forwards. If this was the first game of the season I would be enthused by the work ethic commitment and desire. Yes we need a striker but if you forget about the rest of the garbage we have seen this year its much better and something to build on. |

Right well i was there on Saturday with my 3 kids. As i was at QPR. I had to beg my six year old to go. He was thoroughly bored at QPR and wanted leave at half time. On Saturday the atmosphere the commitment the animated management style the team selection and the entertainment were simply miles and miles better than with Hurst. At six years old my boy reminded me of me at his age. He did not take his eyes off the game. Amazing. Yes we need a new forward or 2 but my boy liked Pennington, Roberts and Downes. At six you do not understand the game but you know when you are being entertained. On the way out he asked me when is the next game. I was not embarrassed to call myself a fan on Saturday and feel everyone tried as hard as they could. You cannot ask for more than that. Hurst destroyed this club. Make no mistake. Evans tried to bring someone fresh and new in but Hurst bough all of the players and what we have is down to him. Good Luck to Paul lambert it may be too late but he looks like he wont go down without a fight. May now be an exciting rest of the season. If we can get within 3 points from safety by christmas and he has a few quid in January we may still do it. Norwich game will be interesting |

I do not feel sorry for PH. Never did he fill me with any confidence at all. Reminds me the time I think it was Harry Redknapp who was offered the cousin of George Weah only to find he had 2 left feet. I knew nothing of PH and he by the sound of it had 1 good season at Shewsbury. YES SHREWSBURY. In interviews he came across as a timid child never inspired me with confidence and cannot believe he inspired the team. Out of all of his signings i would keep 3. Edwards as he looks as though he can do a job. Kayden Jackson and Nsiala. Both look hopeless but KJ has pace and Nsiala is a big strong lad. Jackson needs a proper forward beside him to learn off and if can learn could pop up with 10 goals a season. Nsiala is truly shocking but i would give him 6 months training and if he can learn not to dive in and learn how to play at this level then he could be an asset. Not seen enough of Harrison to judge but feel sears is past it so he may have a future. The rest can go. |

Uninspiring football, bulls**t talked about poor results and poor players having a great game, picking old past it players instead of the youth, getting rid of Marriott who is looking class. This man had no PR skills. He is a foul mouthed agressive man who provoked the fans on many occasions. Told the fans the more we scream for a sub he is more likely he is not to put one on. He got what he deserved I am afraid. I for one do not miss him. Unfortunately he never needs to work again. The money received from ITFC over the years he was here was a lottery win for most supporters. If you cannot take the abuse then get another job. Just do one and get on with your life. |

I hear loads of people saying well we have to give the manager time. OK I get that but I cannot accept carrying on with a manager who after 11 games has not shown the team, owner or supporters that he has any idea of hist best starting 11, who stubbornly refuses to use any of the under 23 team who are top of the league and most of all who cannot demonstrate that after 11 games his methods are working. I have no issues with being winless after 11 if the football is getting better and there is hope that we can start winning games in the future. If anything we are getting worse than we were at the start of the season. PH you sound like a nice guy but you do not convince me you have any passion. You do not convince me you can give the players any confidence and you do not convince me that when January comes you can actually find a player any better than what we have. Sorry mate but I think it is time you fell on your sword. |

Please can some tell me what high intensity pressing football means. If you could explain it to our manager that would be nice too. I think i understand 1) high intensity......running about a bit. 2) pressing......chasing down players who have the ball and defenders pushing up to the halfway line. We dont seem to do either. Football is simple. Screw the sports science and heart rate monitors and seeing how far players run in a match and simply do the following 1) Find 4 defenders who can defend. Tell then when the ball is cleared by a defender or goalkeeper to push up and follow the ball out. Defend higher up and the midfield can play in the oppositions half. 2) Stop playing 2 holding defensive midfielders. You only need 1 and there is no reason that player needs to sit just in front of the back 4. Play as part of a midfield not as part of the defence. Stop playing players just on the basis of how much running about they do. Dozzell is never going to run around like a headless chicken. He has a brain that is faster than most players legs. For me this was the downfall of MM and will be for PH. Buying players who run around and tire themselves out without doing much is not the answer. To unlock a defense you need players who can pass the ball. If you pass the ball the opposition needs to do all the running to get the ball back. 3) Persist with Jackson but play sears, Folami or buy someone else to play with him. If he cant form a partnership with 2 up front (if given service) then he isnt going to cut it. 4) when we do attack, get in the box. Reliance on crosses (we had a few good ones today) is a waste of time if there is no one to get on the end of them. I am either a football genius or past football managers (post magilton) of this great club watch too much champions league football where TOP players play intricate systems you can only play with TOP CLASS player. 4 4 2 may not win you the league but it will not get you relegated. |

I hate to write off a manager after 10 games and feel bad for doing so BUT looking at the way the U23 and U18s play, there is only one man who would be able to transfer the type of football they play to the first team. One George Burley. What Paul Jewell, Dick MCcarthy, Roy Keane and Paul Hurst do not understand is that at ITFC we want to be entertained. Similar to Man U. Even when they are top of the league (been a while) they expect to watch attractive passing and attaking football. No one who has watched the teams of Robson and Burley for that matter would ever be able to say truthfully that since Burley left the have been entertained (other than in short spells). I want to be able to watch football again. For that reason I will spend 3 quid rather than 30 from now on. Perhaps we should turn out in our thousands to watch the kids and stay away from tge first team for a bit to make a point to Marcus Evans an Paul Hurst?????? |

BIZARRE is the only word I can use. Yes its a totally different level than the championship but I would rather watch Kenlock, Emmanuel, Dozzell, Downes and Folami (perhaps upfront with Jackson) than Knudsen Donacian, Skuse and Nolan. We have not won a game and we have a bunch of talented kids doing the business and playing attractive attacking football. If Paul Hurst does not know how to train his players to play like this or set his team up to play like this tgen he should go. He should be thoroughly embarrassed by the fact that the 2 other teams at the club are BOTH top of the league. Its clear for all to see and has been for some time that we have teams that are coached the right way to play football and that we have the talent. PH wants the whole team from top to bottom to play the same way. Well the youngsters are doing it with no involvement from the first team manager but the first team are a shambles. Sort it out PH. |

Bored of MMs defensive football 2 years ago. Liked what PH had to say re pressing attacking football with wingers. However nothing i have seen bears any resemblance of what he was trying to achieve. Defense poor. Would prefer Kenlock left and Emmanuel right. Keep Chambers and get a proper centre back as Nsiala is not the answer as was poor Today. Playing Skuse and Chalobah together does not work. Effectively 2 holding midfielders. Edwards ok but crossing the ball a bit poor and when a good cross comes in no one in box. Drop chalobah or skuse and replace with a second forward. Use Rowe on left as cannot be worse than Graham. 4 1 3 2. As he is not going to use Dozzell then use Naylor as an attacking midfielder or Downes. Then get the ball forward and ATTACK FFS. |

If we can pull away from the bottom 3 by Christmas I think we need to look for a new left back (Or use kenlock) and get a proper right back. Nsiala looks good Nolan needs to start each game and can boss Midfield. Get a right midfielder or use edun there. Use 1 of Chalobah or Skuse. Dont need 2 holding midfielders and play 2 forwards. I know it sounds boring but in the mess we are in 4 4 2 and attack. Call me old fashioned but dont believe we have a forward good good enough to play one upfront. |
