UEFA are just fending off the inevitable time when footie will be playing a glabal league - mostly in China and Saudi with the occasional guest game in the USA. This is why TWTD is so apt an acronym. |

Changing the state pension age increasingly to older age qualification is in a way dealing with the issue. We will be more likely to take the retirement age steadily towards 70 before we drop the triple lock - whoever drops that as a political party might as well commit suicide. |
 | Forum Reply | McKenna HAD a lot of credit in the bank... at 18:25 15 Mar 2025
Well that's one opinion. Another is that we've all been in a big learning curve. We have changed a lot of players from league 1 to Prem. Spending what we've been allowed to spend. We've given it a big shot. We go again. Hopefully with McKenna in charge. Anything else is just short sighted. |

As an OAP now I've had to come to terms with being less agile. My experiences in supermarkets are increasingly ones of "get out of my way old timer". The lack of politeness and indeed simple kindness has diminished. One of the few stores left with some manners both in staff and shoppers seems to have Partners. The trouble is can I afford to shop there? |
 | Forum Reply | People keep banging on about the 140 million quid spent at 07:41 27 Feb 2025
Exactly. When Man City spent more than that in January alone you get to see how little 120 million buys. What we mostly have done is buy younger, resellable talent that we can rebuild with. The older players are mostly either top Championship talent who may help us get promoted again or loans that can be returned. Of the three teams that got promoted we were possibly seen as the weakest. We may well finish the strongest of the three. That may be all we can expect. Follow the process? |

I think you'll find there's a tie in between Spurs and Culford School. Slightly ironic as when I was there we weren't allowed to play soccer! Ahhh those were the days. |

There's a 14k fan base that will forever be blue. They don't moan. They just go silent. Then there's the 7k that came back in league 1 when it looked like we weren't flogging all the silver. And then another 8k that me and my bro call the Roy Keane Prawn sandwiches. Sadly they are only here to be on telly with their half and half scarves |

When my dad was alive... he died 1978... we'd go all Town home games and may be half a dozen games at Carrow Road. I was in the Barclays when Fashanu scored the goal they played repeatedly on the intro to MOTD. I saw Cyril Regis score a fabulous goal for WBA. I was in the South Bank Terrace when 35,000 crammed in to see Spurs. I was also there when Town won the Texaco Cup and half the stadium seemed to be Blue and White. In those days neither club was completely fixated on the other. My team is Ipswich through and through but I don't loathe Norwich. |

Tot up the morons on social media. The vocal Mob. I've left Twixter because of the stupidity. Most of TWTD seems to understand the whole picture. Goalkeepers are always in the spotlight. Blame the first goal on Cajuste and Broadhead for not tracking the runner properly. Blame it on Morsy for being in the box and not on the edge. Then blame Muric perhaps. Blame the second goal on losing possession upfield. On Morsy not getting tight on the shot. Then maybe see what a full stretch save it actually was. |

As a Bury lad now living in Essex I have been a ST since about 1970. I am proud to have survived all the Paul's and Roy Keane. Perhaps our American owners can rename us Suffolk Phoenix and make us a truly global franchise. Then it'll not matter where you live! |
 | Forum Reply | No away point for Coventry apparently at 17:14 26 Jan 2025
You might find that a lot of season ticket holders bought seats in other parts of the ground for the Rovers Cup game? That skewed the so called ST Uptake. About ten around us swapped locations. |

Never thought we'd take points off Spurs and Chelsea. We have to finish 17th. It's possible but would you bet on it? Enjoy the ride..... |
 | Forum Reply | Hirst over Delap tomorrow? at 11:32 24 Jan 2025
I'd do somethnig really radical - like play them both - both out wide with a withdrawn centre player. Bang every clearance into the channels - has two possible effects - drags their centre halves out wide and possibly pins in the full backs too. It's not likely we'll ever try that experiment but all my poor old brain can hear is Bill Shankly saying "put it in their half - they can't score from there". Windy = hoof ball = level playing field = lucky ol' Ipswich! |

Except when we dumped the white shorts....now best I don't start that old chestnut about kit. Of course..... It should be blue shirts; white sleeves, white shorts and hooped blue and white socks - although how the little short sock guys would cope with that Lord alone knows. Bah humbug. |
 | Forum Reply | FA cup 78. Bristol Rov away at 13:53 21 Jan 2025
I was there with my brother. On a train returning home that got windows broken by presumably aggrieved home fans on the way out of Bristol so that we also froze all the way home. We were incredibly lucky to draw. One of the Robin Turner goals was probbly offside. They had a goal disallowed. VAR would have had a field day and we'd all have frozen to death waiting for the left frostbitten toenail to be decalred on or offside. Interestingly we'd also been to Cardiff in Round 3 and this game made both of us think our name was on the Cup. We were right. |

 | Forum Reply | Thoughts on Security on entering at 17:05 20 Jan 2025
I got scanned by a ten year old child. Well that was a guesstimate of his age. His supervisor was saying "don't be shy, get in there and wave it about" That and the anti-vehicle bollards are safety measures so that in the event of a major terrorist incident the Prem and the clubs are squeaky clean. Less than five hundred yards from the ground and you'll not see any security. That's the way it goes when money talks! |

Not where I sit - lower West Stand terrace. Hardly anyone went until about 85 minutes; lots of us stayed to cheer OUR team and OUR club. But then we ARE one of the 14,000 and not one of the 28,000. |
