Bristol Rovers 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:31:37

Those of us who knew, and commented as such, that McKenna was a busted flush back in August, are now marvelling at those so called ITFC fans finally realising McKenna is not the Messiah. He has no interest in the football club (as evidenced by the treatment of Humphreys and by the resignation of Kieron Dyer). As set out by us ordinary fans back in August, get rid of KM asap and replace him with someone who has the club in every fibre of his existance....Kieron Dyer.

Lincoln City 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:21:13

It's been glaringly obvious since the end of August, by when we had already failed to beat either Barnsley or Bolton at home, that he would not get us a finish in the top two.

He might speak well, play possession football and be a nice guy, but his results aren't good enough for a squad this able in this division. It's been fact for some time.

Today from KM was a shocker. Picking Evans (who has played well before today having just returned from injury) instead of Humphreys when it was clear Evans was unsurprisingly knackered, is a dereliction of duty. Similarly, not playing Chaplin. You have no choice but to objectively question his judgement. I do hope Donacien was injured otherwise that change made no sense whatsoever!

I'm sure he'll become a good manager. I'm sure one day he'll realise that having being a youth coach doesn't mean you can't select and nuture your own youth home grown talent now you are the manager.

Until then we'll just have to hope that he gets lucky and we get a good striker in this window and Wednesday or Plymouth fall apart!

Facts say it best. At home we have picked up 18 points from a possible 27. That isn't going to get anybody automatic promotion. McKenna needs to sort our home form out fast. Whether he's able to is another matter...

Charlton Athletic 4-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Two mid table teams to play and two average performances. Lucky on Tuesday and our luck ran out today. Not good enough. KMcK has to sort this out or we'll soon slide down the table. KMcK still has no interest in giving our youngsters a proper go despite Humphreys showing him they are more than able with a stunning strike on Tuesday and a performance his fellow professionals thought was worthy of been carried on their shoulders afterwards! Comical that he didn't get any sort of game today.

Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Saxonblue74, Mariner1974, which bit of our demise over the last 40 years is not connected to our failure to produce our own quality young players? It isn't a coincidence is it. My point is that unless we go back to that, we won't have long term, sustainable success. We have to change. Invest in the youth recruitment and development today and maybe, just maybe we might progress over the next 5-10 years. Robson joined Ipswich in 1969, by 1974 we were one of the best teams in the country, every year. History can teach you a lot you know! He only ever bought 14 players...we seem to do that every season!!

Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 14:59:05

Success only came to this club because we identified and nurtured talent - Beattie, Wark, Gates, Butcher etc complimented by a few key signings. Then we played those kids in the first team. Now all we do is buy rubbish and don't play our kids. Why would any talented youngster come here! Tactically inept, we all know that McKenna isn't going to get us promoted. He is doing nothing for our club. Too many poor signings, dreadful substitutions (again today we concede two goals just after he's made them) and no youth development, progression and opportunity into the first team. He's not interested in the long-term success of the club. Kieron Dyer was right. Those that really care about this club should be demanding our youth development is the priority and not settling for the mediocre rubbish we had once again from all those bought, not grown, at our club.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Barnsley - Match Report

We might be 2nd, but it's already clear we won't finish in the top 6. The reality is we couldn't beat two very poor teams from our first three home games. Alarm bells should be ringing.....sadly KM will not be the man to get us out of this division this season. No, I'm not calling for him to go. But he'll need to buy a striker now and start looking to and at our youth development system. To bring our own players through the youth system is our only sustainable, long-term route back to the top. Our failure to do that explains why we have been so poor (i.e outside the Prem or even pushing to go up from the Championship) for so long. We stopped developing our own and our demise is directly linked to that.

McKenna: Disappointing Night
at 23:38:35

The basis of our success in the past was finding talent, developing it, then letting it play in the first team. Instead we now buy players with no quality AND no potential. Is it any wonder we go backwards? Invest in the scouts, invest in the youth development, then keep them at the club and attract more....by getting them into the first team! The reality is that this approach is our only sustainable way back. Yes promotion might not happen this season or next, but it won't anyway as we have shown by buying players over the last 20 years and going backwards. But we can and will still attract and retain young talent if we genuinely show there is a chance for them to make it here. The door has been and is closed to young players making it into the first team and, frankly, we therefore deserve to be where we are. KMcK shows no sign of any interest in youth development and opportunity. I fear for his future, and ours, unless this changes.

KMcK is not the man, plain and simple. His disrespect of our only realistic route back, producing our own players through the youth system, speaks volumes. We were poor under him last season (with the exception of Gillingham away) and we will be again this season. We need a set up that finds talent, nurtures them and then plays them in our first team or we may as well pack in trying to be a football club. We buy poorly and don't give youth a chance. Is it really any wonder we continue to go backwards.

Cook: From a Winning Position We Found a Way to Give It Up
at 19:22:11

It is extraordinary that the management have decided to bring in Probert and Reid, seemingly to support Cook. Cook's record is, quite simply, appalling. At the end of August his Ipswich record was won 4 from 22. Here we are in mid-October, just 3 points above the relegation zone. He has had every opportunity to galvanize Ipswich teams, this season and last, but shows no sign of doing so. If there is any consolation, it is that Reid is probably, from management's perspective at least, able to step in as manager, when the inevitable happens. Just hope it isn't too late for our season when it does....

Cook: Toughest Period of My Management Career in Terms of Wins
at 19:25:17

The facts speak for themselves. He's won 4 games in 22. As we all know, 23 games is half a league season. There is no excuse for that sustained underperformance, only reasons. The reasons are Paul Cook is unable, both tactically and emotionally, to derive match winning performances. He's had two entirely different Ipswich teams, yet the results don't change. That leaves only one logical change left to make....
