Sears: You’ll Know By the End of This Week Where We’re Going to Be
at 13:57:28

It will be really interesting to see what Evans does if there is not a step change in the performances in the next two games...two draws might temporarily keep Lambert employed...anything less then surely he has to be accountable ....but the players simply cannot be excused either...this is a good, big squad that is woefully under achieving. Lambert cannot have any hiding places .....the only thing that may stay Evans hand is the lack of a suitable replacement....one that is sustainable and has a blueprint that can take Town up and survive in the championship..be that this this season or next.

Blues Visit Blackpool Aiming to Get Promotion Push Back on Track
at 11:18:46

As fed up as I am of of PL’s rhetoric, wordsmith trickery and repetitive verbal sound bites, sacking him concerns me because of the lack of viable replacements that could make a real difference. Like most fans I want to see a sustainable style of football that will get us promoted and be a platform of play for the Championship. At the same time I want to see a blue print of how the club is going to operate.....it all seems a bit clumsy and clueless....rudderless was a phrase used earlier...PL did generate a huge amount of goodwill when he came to the club, but that has pretty much evaporated for me....but at this time who is a viable, sustainable replacement?

Lambert: If They Want to Go and Employ Another Manager, No Problem
at 21:32:12

Grab your coat and go then Lambert...if that is your attitude...your platitudes, your obtuse answers to valid questions ...it has worn thin on a fan base that is desperate for green shoots of recovery...anything quite simply that is positive...but the muddle, the “I know best” attitude..the fan base has seen it all before...so if you are not going to dig deep, do the sensible things, and behave appropriately in a press conference...then yes, grab your coat ..your emotional drama, contretemps politicking are not wanted..”Next!!!”.....

Ipswich Town 1-1 Lincoln City - Match Report
at 18:49:38

It was signposted that there was going to be multiple changes. PL’s record speaks for itself. So why complain about being shortchanged post event as if it was some huge surprise??!!... and to be honest, he has to give the fringe players who are supposed to be first team players (Huws, Keane, Nsiala etc) game time to ensure the challenge for promotion is sustained in the event of injuries loss of individual form etc....I had hoped for better today with the team that was playing...it is a bit worrying that it was so flat in the first half...also that Nsiala had a mare....he was playing well end of last season...and was hoping for a bit more from Huws.....

Huddersfield Linked With Crowe Bid

How do you know money grabbing agents and parents....I would suggest you don’t know...you are surmising on your prejudices and media stereotype....to be honest, I don’t know either....I don’t know about the lads attitude or training ground behaviours, nor indeed his taste in sporty cars...

Do you know what though, I bet he and his family are trying to do the best possible to take the maximum opportunity they have been presented... the lads parents undoubtedly will have invested much time, money and love in their sons career ... I hope he stays at town, I hope that our club is doing the best by him...I wish him well too, and hope he comes to the right decision as to what is best for him and his career... I look forward to hearing about his success because there are many many aspiring youngsters who don’t make the grade and are left, after many formative years, to find their way in life....
for those making spiteful, uninformed comments just think a moment....

Lambert Meets Blues Legends
at 18:26:41

If this was a calculated decision for PR purposes or indeed cynical manipulation it is clever....however Paul Lambert is equally a man of stature and some success, and to be seen to be asking for thoughts of Town legends could be construed as weak/lacking his own ideas It certainly is not.
When previous managers of recent time came in to Town, did they consider such a master move....imagine if Paul Hurst had done that over the summer, knowing that Burley and Butcher had sought the role....
Lambert has played this exquisitely....and it is sad that George Burley over recent years has not been sounded out ....as others have pointed out it suggests degrees of arrogance, lack of understanding of our rich history and that these Town legends still love and care for this club as much as they do....

It is a sad fact that there are a bovine section of a Town fans....a democracy allows opinion, social media and the internet a conduit, and a sewage pipe allows sh!t to flow through it....think on that cattle

A Driven Individual and - So Far - a Serial Winner
at 07:02:17

You hit the nail on the head with the word “trust”.....it is the trust that Hurst has got it right with Dozzell, the trust in the decision of loaning out of the youth of the Town, the trust in the recruitment of lower league potential, the trust in getting the handling of senior players correct....yes, a lot of”trust” in the right decisions Hurst is making....

....once the trust that is being shown towards Hurst’s decision making is possibly exposed then the man with a plan might be shown to be limited...

On the other hand that trust might be rewarded, that Hurst called it right in so many of his decisions, that the man with a plan was right....

As another blog wrote....it’s a journey....and, at the moment quite refreshing.....

Time To Simply Enjoy Being Ipswich Town

Excellent read...though I do confess to being of the tutting brigade come the end of the game. I didn’t go. But Hursts behaviours and decisions have me concerned. The news prior to the game regardingthe young players supposedly up for loan sending me spinning. However, I read this and reflect that you are absolutely right. Enjoy the moment it is exciting.

Hurst "Surprised By One or Two Things" That Are "Nowhere Near Good Enough"

Hurst knew what he was stating. It was considered, measured and balanced. Was he right?...was it part of a wider plan to motivate and send a message?..I don’t know. What I aspire to is that it’s part of a wider plan that promotes the team in an evolving direction...failure to achieve that has consequences....

Best be on it Hurst....Marcus Evans or not, this is a results driven environment and you need to come up trumps...MM was many things, but he was no mug, despite the Neanderthal on here, he got team spirit and loyalty right, tactics poor maybe but man management was his thing...speak to Antonio Conte to reference otherwise....corrupt it at your risk Hursty Boy...love the verve and vitality but don’t be a bell end versed on ego ...please

Hurst "Surprised By One or Two Things" That Are "Nowhere Near Good Enough"

They say that you break a person down into the basic constituents and then build that individual (and team) back up in the model that you seek to attain for the job you want them to do.

In some circumstances this has a high failure drop out rate.

One element of what McCarthy undisputedly achieved during his tenure was team spirit and a togetherness within the club. The loyalty from itfc employees all is testament to this fact.

Perhaps Hurst and Doig have come up against this and this is what they are breaking down..”stamping their way”.

Change for any employee is difficult under a new management team. It has to be managed very well with articulacy, tact and to a clear plan. I hope Hurst has that plan and he is effective and efficient in carrying it out.

I accept the media is a tool in that change process and he could be using it for his own ends, comms etc but reading this makes one take a sharp intake of breath and wonder what is next.

Paul Hurst’s Time at Shrewsbury – A History in Seven Matches
at 19:35:18

Thanks Harry a great read.....plenty to consider and balance......as excited as one feels for the new era there are notes of caution coming to the fore....as one can only rightly expect. This is the Championship after all with a significant number of clubs with serious financial clout versus towns commercial position. Hursts capabilities need to transfer to the Championship which is a significant step up. I recognise his qualities, i am excited by his appointment and am looking forward to the new season. But I have a caution and nervousness.
What do you think of the appointment Harry..?was hurst your choice?...

Long May Our Current Ascendancy Continue! - Notes for Norwich City
at 21:40:48

Billious oafs....consumed by their illusions of fragile grandeur supported by their nefarious premier league payments...it may not be all tickety boo on the rickety ship ITFC but our lineage and substance is not to be sneered at, indeed there are clubs in the Premier League who would be grateful of it, just as we gaze on to the land of honey... one has to believe and not get taken in by their jaundiced viewpoints tainted by their inflated financial capabilities...yes, you Norfolk folk, get used to the realities of the financial paucity imposed by a soujourn in the championship and see how you crow so loudly then...bread and water any one in Norfolk?...get used to it, it’s a sour taste and fleeting moments are what you live for...roll on Sunday and never stop believing...
