| News Comment | Leicester Linked With New McGoldrick Bid at 05:14:05
I know it would be a blow but as we had him on a free it would be too good to turn down. Take the money and invest in January. In the meantime get this Armstrong from Newcastle as a young player may give us pace and maybe get Walters back from Stoke. He is out of favour and as we know a quality striker. In Midfield sign someone like Williams to bring creativity on loan and maybe Garvan or Collison too. More competition in midfield that would bring out more from Hyam, Bru and Skuse. Think now with Parr in the mix and a good defence we can really get the season going and if the loans are successful sign them up in January and if needed strengthen more. Don't forget the add ons from Cresswell may come in at the end of the season to balance the books and if MM takes a gamble who knows. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Prepared to Wait on Loans at 01:02:12
Sorry but I am getting bored of this negativity. Reason is that we cant sign anyone and spend money is the corrupt fair play rules. How can teams that get relegated from the premier league and allowed to spend millions on players and current league teams have to rely on frees and loans. Marcus Evens could plough millions for Mick but the rules state we cant. It makes me angry that English football is only for big boys. Well get rid of those corrupt leaders and bring in a football league that is equal and if others cant spend millions then put a ban on high transfers?? |
| News Comment | West Ham Cresswell Bid Claim at 11:15:43
Ok is this why they buttered us up with a friendly?? However as the article states we shall have to give 20% of the transfer to Tranmere. £1.5 million is a joke and £300,000 of that will go to Tranmere. Cresswell would need to be sold for at least £5 million before we get a decent return for him and Marcus Evans make sure you add these further clauses. 25% sell on fee. Further £1 million for getting an international cap and also a further £1 million for 30 games for the new club. We need to make something from his career that I believe can be bright and potentially an international player. Sorry but £1,5 million is a joke and the only replacement you would get with that budget would be an old has been. Well you could get Ashley Cole on a free. |
| News Comment | Fortuna Fancy Town Friendly at 17:54:05
As I was stewarding and looking after the fans at the QPR game I thought to myself we have to organise a trip to Fortuna. There fans were amazing and friendly and looking at there stadium I would lick my lips visiting there. In a matter of fact I would love to steward there for a season. However getting to the point of a friendly this would be the best idea than sliced bread. With all the banter of England & Germany it would be the ideal time for friendship forget the past of the world cup and the wars. This would be great to start and for the idea of player swaps and feeding it would be interesting especially with Germany bring in more youth in to football and it shows with how successful German clubs are in the champions league and internationals. Selling merchandise in the club shop would be great. Maybe do a half Ipswich half Fortuna shirt too. Ian Milne if you are reading get in touch and sort this idea out. It's about friendly family football and that is what this club needs. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: As Poor as We've Played at 19:31:42
Some on here are not blaming MM, We were playing Preston, A team from League 1 and we should be beating. Some people are starting to think the FA CUP is a hindrance to the league. It's a competition that can bring rewards of big money against those big teams in the premiership. Todays performance was that why bother with the game. Attendance was low even though the club reduced prices and potentially new fans were disappointed. One fan said on the train on the way home that was worse than the John Duncan days. We need passion in the team and on the terraces. Want to win every game. we may be unbeaten in many matches but we need every player putting 100% and after todays performance this is questionable. :-( |
| News Comment | Hunt Training With Town at 12:41:06
Ebanks-Blake and Hunt would be good editions to the team, Come on guys we could have em on a free. Get them on contract til January and if they perform they get a deal. Also unlike the days of Jimmy Bullard (Yes another bad hair do) put in the new contract an appearance fee so if they keep playing well they will get in the team. truthfully all players should have this as they would have to play well for the team. With having the team as follows I could see us dominate for once: Loach Chambers Berra Smith Cresswell Robinson Skuse Tabb Hunt McGoldrick Ebanks Blake Subs Gerken Elliott Hyam Taylor Murphy Wordsworth Edwards Even gives up completion for Tunnicliffe, Vaselli, Mings Nouble and Marriot. |
| News Comment | Chopra Undergoes Medical at 00:24:45
I wish you luck chops, Truthfully you were a promising player that did not perform at your strength at PR. Understandably with your problems it took most of your career at PR to a bad name and you turned on the fans in it's toughest days. I believe you will do well at another club and I would like to thank you for the important goals that you scored for us. All the best. |
| News Comment | Swap Deals "Notoriously Difficult" at 00:54:43
Just get rid and think about some real signings for next season. These rumours are a complete waste of time. We are just skint because of Keane and Jewell signing players that just don't want to perform. Now Mick has a tough task to sort us out on a budget that is for happy shopper and a wage budget like an employer on a minimum wage. Get real guys it's another long season ahead and I say prove me wrong otherwise. |
| News Comment | Wolves Skipper Again Linked at 19:54:40
For gods sake the only players we should look at from Wolves are Stearman and Doyle. The rest are not any good. Just because Mick come from Wolves it does not mean we shall sign nothing but Wolves players. There are so much better out there that are young and have the passion to play for the town. |
| News Comment | Robson Cruise This Weekend at 19:49:09
Just been down the port this evening to send them off and was dissapointed as i was the only one. I would have been honoured to be on board but i thought there would be more town fans waving them off. Super Bob, Super Bobby Robson i say. Blue Arrrrmy. |
| News Comment | Evans's Salary Cap Proposal Scrapped at 10:38:56
As per normal the Premier league looking after their own. However takes me back a few decades ago when the Serie A in Italy was spending funds like it was on trees and only the big clubs had millions. It' very much like the Premier League now. Hopefully the same thing will happen and those clubs will fall flat like those big clubs of Italy with lots of corruption and point deductions and maybe relegations force upon them. It's about time Fifa made regulations for all the world leagues and put fair play caps on wages and introduce a cap on spending. Especially when we keep being told the world I in a debt crisis. |
| News Comment | Skuse Deal Done Claims as Doyle Linked at 15:35:54
Mick knows who he wants, I would be happy to have Stearman, Johnson for our defence. Then Skuse in midfield with Judge too. Be very happy with Doyle as he can score goals. Mick would work well with the Wolves players that he knows there strengths. How about?? Loach Stearman, Chambers, Smith Cresswell Edwards Judge Hyam Skuse Doyle Nouble At least it is a start?? |
| News Comment | McCarthy Will Make Changes at Burnley at 18:56:31
I would have to say Mick is cool as a cuecumber and i have to say after a stressful season we can surely enjoy to relax and enjoy the last game of the season. I think we should play a team thas has deserved tobe in the team. My selections below. Loach Stearman Chambers Smith Cresswell Edwards Hyam Tabb Jet Nouble Murphy Barret Hewitt Mings Marriot Ndaw Kisnorbo Mclean Truthfully i think Martin, Drury and Chopra wont be wearing the ow shirt again. Martin is nconsistent, Drury is not the quality we need and Chopra should be doing paddy power adverts. Lets see what the summer brings when lots of new face will arrive at Portman Road. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: We Still Need One More Win at 10:59:32
I think our fate will come after the next few matches against Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday. Lose both and we are back in trouble and the nerves will be back. I believe Mick is a true manager for the town. He It's the luck of the game and hard work. Derby game we robbed them of 3 points and Hull robbed us from a point. Thats football. Other clubs have tough games too. However if we go down it will be on goal difference and we know who to blame for that don't we. I think if we had Mick from the start of the season we would have been relaxing more getting ready for the summer. Instead we have some nervous times and nail biting to do. At least it keeps us interested right up to the last day. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: A Little Worse Off Despite Decent Easter at 15:27:21
Think for the drop i have to say Bristol City have got some tough games and are very much gone, Peterborough i think will surprise us all and get out of it as they can dig out a result when needed, Huddersfield play a number of teams in the bottom area and if they don't pick these points up then they deserve to go down so it's in their hands. Sheff wednesday like Huddersfield have it all in there hands against teams around the drop zone but have 3 very tough away trips at Millwall, Leeds and Blackpool that could result in the confidence being knocked out of them and at the end of it Town at home after that could give us a chance for a much needed 3 points away. Barnsley i can see doing a hoodoo act and escape the drop as they like Peterborough can pop out a good result out of the bag and i think Jason Scotland is one player that may recue them in the end. Blackburn will have to bring some experience in to the side to get them out of it but have a few tough games along the way. Wolves i think will pick up again and will avoid the drop. They have had a blip and have some good players that will clear them. Even Charlton could get dragged down as they have some tough games but with the last game of the season against Bristol City they may avoid it from the skin of their teeth. Blackpool are a team that i think will escape, They have some classy players that will get them out of trouble and will keep them up. Millwall i think will escape as they have many home games to play and i think that will be enough for them. Burnley have done enough i believe and with Charlie Austin to get the goals they will stay up. Leeds and Birmingham have the quality in the team to get them the points to stay up and that leaves us.I believe if we can get one more win and make sure we dont get beat at home then we will survive and be ready for the clearout at the end of the season and MM bringing in the players for us to have a good season next season. Think we shall all agree this season is a close shave and should never forget it. Onwards and upwards i say and i think it will be Sheff Wed, Huddersfield and Bristol City for the drop. |
| News Comment | Villa Ticket Prices Set at 15:34:55
Ok how many seats have we been allocated?? As with a low price of £20 they should be snapped up. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Hints at Changes for Posh Clash at 15:32:38
Think to make sure we don't leak goals. Loach Chambers Smith Higginbotham Orr Hyam Cresswell Ndaw Thomas Dj Campbell Scotland. Subs ALB Edwards Reo Coker Murphy Mohsni Carson Hewitt If Wellens has not returned in place of Thomas and Thomas on bench instead of Mohsni. |
| News Comment | TWTD Poker Tournament Tonight at 11:36:36
Truthfully should not be promoting gambling, However maybe if you are having Poker nights, How about race nights and all the money raised give to a local charity????? Sure if players enjoy a little flutter then we know that it's going to a good cause. |
| News Comment | Ex-Charlton Man Joins Town at 12:55:34
Yes Warkys Tash, it sounded we had 5 at the back. However with MM after match interview he comfirmed that Edwards is attacking and it was 442. It worked well and if we had problems he would help at the back. PJ tinkered too many times. MM will tinker but not at the back. It was plain to see his motive is to sort out our defence. especially after the palace game. Think Hyam could be brought in midfield just in front for Saturday too. |
