We know from KM that Wolfie asked to leave, how do we know Chappers hasn’t done the same? His contract is up, maybe he was offered another deal but rejected it? I don’t know if he is married etc, but maybe his family are unhappy and want to move back down south? Hopefully KM will address this in his next presser. But don’t always assume it’s the club pushing the player out, sometimes players want to move for personal reasons not footballing ones. |

Badly flawed transfer policy last season! You can’t assume a top championship player will make the step up. Is it coincidence that that towns best two players last season were recruited from other PL clubs and the supposedly “top” players recruited from the championship were mostly average? Maybe Ashton should have concentrated more on recruiting players from other clubs in the PL? Leeds and Sunderland appear to have a better grasp in the respect of recruiting players from overseas markets this season than town had last season. OK the club hadn’t been in the PL for years, but improvements were being made everywhere else off the field and it appears recruitment was left behind ! |

The fact is that a lot of young PL players are getting signed by clubs in France, Germany, and Spain now whereas in previous seasons they would have ended up signing for championship clubs on loan or permanently. As a result young championship players are becoming more expensive. In reality he probably isn’t worth what town paid but market forces influences the fees. Personally I hope we do sign Egeli in addition to this lad as the Norwegian lad looks an exciting prospect. He’s a young Irish international and has potential. Under KM’s coaching and management he should improve. Hopefully in a couple of seasons time we will be getting bids of £35-£40 million for him. |

He hasn’t played a competitive game due to injury but played in a couple of friendlies. Appears to be another signing who isn’t fully fit and will take time to integrate. We need players who can play and start asap. Town could be nearer the bottom than the top before all the new signings are considered to be ready to play competitively. Although it’s a long season, town don’t want to be playing catch up as we will never make too six let alone top two |
