| Forum Thread | Providing we’d like another CM in the door for next season… at 07:34 3 Jun 2023
Then I’m surprised Gustavo Hamer hasn’t been mentioned yet. Has been excellent for Coventry over the last 3 years. No idea what his contract situation is, or value (unrealistic?) so it could be a no-go, but certainly fits the profile I’d say. Thoughts? |

I can see us going in for him in January. Kept an eye on him a lot this season and he is exactly the kind of option we could do with up top, the final piece of the jigsaw imo. |

Apparently Derby are in shock talks surrounding a loan move for him. I wonder if we’d be looking to hijack any move, given we’re in need of another striker and he seems to tick all the boxes. Surely if Derby can afford him we can too. Thoughts? Would you take him? Is it realistic? [Post edited 17 Jul 2022 22:12]

| Forum Thread | Throwing out a potential left wing back option at 21:18 2 May 2022
Harrison Burrows from Posh. 20 years old, 3 goals and 5 assists in a poor team. Young, quick, good dribbler, versatile and apparently a decent set piece taker. Perhaps out of reach financially… but certainly the sort of player we should be aiming for imo. |

That we ended up finishing below Portsmouth and Bolton tbh. How did that happen?! |

Striker from FGR. 24yo, 23 goals in L2 this season. Can’t say I know too much about him in terms of what type of player he is, but sounds like a good potential option for next season. Or should we be aiming higher? |

Probably the most cringeworthy and awkward chat show in the history of existence. Or am I alone on this one? |

Whatever happened to him? According to Wikipedia, from 2012 he fell off the edge of the planet. Still only 32, so hardly ancient... Anyone aware of what he's currently up to? |
| Forum Thread | Bolton's "Overspending" at 11:17 27 Aug 2019
Does this simply just go back to their EPL days, or also the years that followed? For me it's a strange one as I can't seem to remember Bolton being one of those teams that ever splashed millions upon millions on transfer fees. Presumably they were just very careless when offering salaries to the likes of Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo etc... Even once they were relegated from the EPL, I don't recall them making big name signings in an attempt to go straight back up again? Maybe my memory's just shot to pieces though. If somebody could enlighten me more on their financial woes (As I'm sure it has more to do than just spending on playing staff), it would be appreciated. |
| Forum Thread | What must Klug be thinking? at 12:15 23 Sep 2018
The poor bloke must be feeling so disillusioned and unmotivated in his role at the club at the moment. All of the hard work that was put into producing our own talent, for them all to just be discarded. I think we were all feeling pretty positive after the West Ham friendly, which coincidentally included many of “our own” who were clearly ready and up for the job. Far too many needless changes made, when in truth we already had a good core to work with, with only 2-3 quality additions required (Edwards, Nsiala and Jackson would have been fine). This should have been the team... Bart Emmanuel Nsiala/Wolf Chambers Knudsen Edwards Skuse Dozzell Nydam/Downes Ward/Rowe Waghorn (We should have done everything in our power to keep him) Hindsight is a wonderful thing I know but PH has royally c****d his big chance up, mainly due to pure arrogance. We need change now before it’s too late, I say get Klug in charge with the assistance of a Burley type, people who love the club and know what they’re doing! |
| Forum Thread | Midfielders of the past decade at 10:50 10 Aug 2018
Touching again on one of yesterday's posts, which asked the question of the "best 11 of the past decade", I really struggled when it came to the midfield. Regrettably, I ended up including Leadbitter in my team! The heat must have got to me but I really couldn't think of anybody else. It got me thinking, how many midfielders of the past decade have actually enjoyed a sustained spell in the squad for longer than 1-2 seasons? Skuse & Hyam off the top of my head - there can't be that many more can there?? And even Hyam had been "In and out" through either form or injury. Would also be interested to find out how many loanees we've taken on during that same period! It's so refreshing to now have a longer-term plan, potentially a team of "our own", who are generally all in their prime, who can all hopefully enjoy a good 3-4 seasons of sustained progress! We are building something special, it's going to take time and patience, but I for one am more excited than I have been since the Burley/Royle days. |

FAO Phil, do you know if there was anything in that recent link? Still believe we could do with another Winger. Sears isn't up for playing there, Roberts doesn't seem to be impressing and jury still is still out on whether Ward is good enough. Would be a good signing imo. |
