Sears: First Time I've Heard That From Home Fans
at 16:19:32

These shrill comments about Freddie lying in his statement are total lunacy. It's obvious that the team is behind Mick, whether we like it or not. This will probably change the more they are booed, but when that happens, itfc are not going to bribe a player to make false statements supporting the manager! Come on! What planet are you on?!I understand the frustration - I feel it - but pettiness and spreading rumours is indicative of a very low EQ.

Best: Town's a Proper Football Club

The illuminated Nike sign coming from his peck is well dodgy. That dirt road is well proper farmland. Proper football club doesn't inspire much confidence. Where are you coming from sir?

Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday Linked With Murphy
at 13:54:59

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. why would Sheffield offer .25 when we've just turned down .5? Didn't they know about it? Hardly a good idea to piss us off first thing in the negotiations.

Derby Linked With McGoldrick Move
at 14:10:29

He is Scholes - he should not be constrained by a single position, but he should operate more in the midfield, moving up whenever it works. We just signed Pitman; we have Sears and Murphy up front. If he does go, we need to fill the midfield with someone who can pass through balls like him. Whatever - he will go if he wants to, but if he stays, I want to see him in a more advanced mf role, replacing Bru, with Bishop and Skuse behind him and Maitland-Niles and Fraser on the wings.

Parr Smith Berra Chambo (there's no point wishing for a real RB)
Skuse
Fraser Bishop Maitland Niles (our chances of midfield goals looks tastier this year doesn't it?)
McGoldrick
Murphy

Or, utiliza one winger in Fraser, and a false winger on the other side, in Sears, with McG operating just behind)

Brings back memories. 15 years old (I looked 12) and £1 for a bottomless pint glass. I think I lasted for about 2.5 pints then stumbled over to Olivias.

Williams Close to Return to Action But Probably Not With Town
at 20:47:16

Teddy and Jonny are not playing in the same roles. If Jonny were here, he would be playing in the role that Hunty and Tabby have been playing. Teddy is a central midfielder and Jonny is going to play in an attacking role. It's a question of do we need him to play in the Hunty/Tabby role, and I think while they have been pretty good, the answer is a clear yes! We probably would have won yesterday if Jonny were playing instead of Tabby, no disrespect to him or...Hunty.

Arsenal Again Linked With Mings Move
at 17:31:25

Jonny Parr is a left back isn't he? I wouldn't mind him moving to his natural position with the right money, as long as it's invested in midfield creative position. Chambers is probably good enough RB to get us up and St. Ledger or Smith would have to step up. $8m plus 10% sell on clause would work.

McCarthy: Wonderfully Rewarding
at 19:11:59

I rate Sammon for what he does. I cert dont want him to start for us, but he's a pain in the bum and a bulldog for opposition at 80 mins every game. He causes a disruption everytime he plays because it's never a like for like sub, no matter who he's replacing. He gives his all, he gets corners and he holds the ball up and makes chances. Who cares if he doesn't score goals. His role is to unsettle and disrupt defenses in the final quarter of a game and he does it to a Tee. I hope we sign him.

McGoldrick seems to be perfect for that deeper role and I personally think we need Hunt Jr. to become a poacher because Didz and Mings will always create opportunities in the box and if they keep slotting sublime passes through to our strikers we are going to need a poacher to score us goals. Didz wont score as many goals in that position, but he'll cause more of them.

Skuse is right about people never seeing what he does but i think there's a good reason for that. 50% of the time I cringe when he has the ball. Our midfield is a dusty old corpse without Bishop or Williams. It's worth spending a few quid to sort this out in January. I'm fine with Skuse as long as he's not relied on to create anything. I see him (and Hyam sometimes, when he's having an off day) more as a 3rd centre back in front of the two real ones. Interesting role, and it's needed sometimes, but it explains why other teams have been "carving us up" at times; why we're accused of just playing long balls, and why we're relying on our defense and goalkeepers to get us out of trouble, a lot.

That said, I think we need another centre back. I hope St Ledger is the next Berra for us because Smith is nothing more than good cover IMO and while I love Chambers for his enthusiasm, we need someone of Berra's smarts if we're going to compete at this level and higher. I don't see Chambers or Smith at the answer. I look to be proven wrong about that.

Mings is amazing obviously. Parr was brilliant today. Murphy needs another striker to offer something more that what he can do, which is find space and head the ball at set pieces. Hopefully Hunt is what we need - a poacher to terrorize defenses. Is Nouble a lost cause?

I like what Hunt Sr. offers but he's not a long term solution. Hopefully our young / injured wingers can surprise and delight in the coming weeks / months. Anderson is getting better and better. Very exciting prospect. BArt was solid but his distribution is a bit flakey. Tabb is okay cover and can pull off a great performance now and then.
