Hopefully, Sammy Szmowaddywaddy gets to play with 11 players on the pitch for us too, as surely, it's written in the stars that he gets a goal there in normal conditions? |

Agreed, unless a player has made a dangerous challenge or has been sent off for violent conduct, it makes no sense that goals get wiped but cards stand!
I'll take it, though, if it means we get a second go at that match! |

Have you seen the forecast? I don't think prodding the pitch with a few forks is going to clear any water in the next hour! If they can't play on it now. then I can't see that changing for a few hours. |

I didn't blame the ref? It was a nailed on red. You can't say he hasn't been rather card happy, though. He's also been quick to card Blackburn, other than Cajuste just being wiped out there! |

Last night's game was the first time this season that we made changes and we didn't suffer for it. In fact, some of the stuff we were playing, after subs were made, was scintillating. I know we were out of sight at that point, so playing with plenty of freedom. It sure was promising and reassuring, though! |

Thread | Last night we reminded me of Leeds/Leicester/Southampton

from 2 years ago. Fallible, slightly disjointed at times but also, absolutely sensational and unplayable, in periods. Leeds in both games in that season, looked completely average, yet still seemed to blow us away with their quality.
In our previous games, I was expecting us to muddle through. A disconnect in our play and some missing confidence was always going to be part of our early season. I did however expect that the quality we have to shine through and be enough to get us over the line in most games. I think it can be argued that fortune has has kept a disappointing start not being a terrible one.
Last night finally showed, we have more than enough quality to tear most teams in this league apart. Hopefully this is the awakening for this team, and we will now start to see more confidence starting to ooze from the group.
When Leif and Philogene started to purr last night, I posted that once this team clicks we are going to destroy some teams, I wasn't expecting that to be Sheffield Utd in that game, though!
Being an Ipswich fan is such a rollercoaster ride! I consider myself a fairly level-headed poster, but even I have got dragged into the negativity on here recently, and started to question our leadership. I know it's only one game, and not to get carried away, but last night was exactly what my hopes of our early season would be! Let's hope this is part 2 of our special journey with the leadership team.

I was thinking that at half time. Not sure if it's by design or if that's just the way it played out, but who fecking cares. Tonight was just the medicine and hopefully will now bring confidence gushing from the group. |
