Well done Wokingblue for seeing through the smokescreen that is being wafted our way through the current media. Absolutely correct, Covid will be with us for probably the next century and it wont ever go away. Look at the flu pandemic after the last war...we still have flu and nobody reports the thousands of deaths amongst the elderly any more...coz it is a fact of life. we have to get on with life now and live with this and yes i agree with the decision because its long term. Oh dear. He has bounced from pillar to post and does not seem to stay anywhere for very long. Wont be with us for more than 6 months after this club realizes the Hugh mistake its about to make in appointing Mckenna. OMG. No No NO No NO. In all my 45 years of supporting this club through thick and thin whilst dispersed all over the world this has to be the lowest of the low announcement. Really, an under 18 coach that no one has ever heard of and the current Man united squad wanting rid because of his archaic school teacher like tactics. This bodes really well for the future of our club doesn't it?? We desperately need an experienced old school manager at the helm to salvage this season not some wet behind the ears under 18 coach. My god, how much lower can we possibly fall???

Our inconsistency was our only consistency!!! Its so true. We have a great side that could be capable of walking this league but it requires good honest management and a serious assessment of how to make this team gell and it clearly is not doing so at the moment. Something was very wrong with this squad and i am not sure if the management had lost the dressing room but it sure as hell seemed so. Lets hope fingers crossed that whoever comes in can sort this for the last half of the season. I for one would love to see George Burley and i know the naysayers would disagree, but honestly hand on heart who here could imagine anyone doing worse than cooke, lambert hurst...the list goes on. :) |

Monkey_blue. I could not agree more with your post. Cook is showing no tactical awareness IMO. No plan B. This enforced formation is crippling this team which clearly are capable of much better things. I always ask myself that if a new manager came in, would they be able to get more out of them and the answer is always the same. We are no Man City and I truly believe that if we step away from the enforced one up front mentality we could be ripping up this league. Sorry if that offends the Cook supporters on here but we struggle to beat anyone currently in that top 6 (Wycombe aside) playing this formation.. that will become more important if we do somehow creep into those elusive playoffs next year.? For me...i am not holding my breath coz where we are now in the table truly reflects our best capabilities under Cook.. |

Credit to all the players and Cook. Never thought I would be saying this but actually a big thanks. I am smiling again, TFFT. Took some time. Looked decent for once. Its apparent that Morsey WILL have a big say in the direction of this club, so i eat humble pie. Do not screw it now cookie coz you have the biggest opportunity to take this club back to where it belongs and you will get the recognition for it!! No Bobby or Alf yet but who knows??? Keep it up and please listen to the fan base... Who knows...your statue could be outside PR too in a few years time too :)

So i thought cook was the best of a bad bunch for appointment...but now I'm absolutely sure it was a Hugh mistake to appoint him. His record with us is appalling and it does not look like its going to change in the foreseeable future. Any one on here that thinks he is our savior needs to hit the reset button. He publicly announces that our formation will always be with one up and i ask you, which team would not play to counteract that? 4 games in and its there for all to see. It does not work, wont work and it will take about 6 months more of this crap b4 our American cousins wise up and sort this. Good luck mr cook 2moz coz i can guarantee another loss. Soz 2 b so negative but i can not c this current form changing under this regime and cooks negative playing formation. :( |

I really don't think PC will have any problem attracting the right players to our club during the summer. He is very astute and is well respected in the football world, despite the smiling joking scouse front he conveys. With the money i believe that will be at his disposal, we can say goodbye to the days when we lost out on descent signings coz we could not afford them. Players will come here because he is the manager, even if they have to drop a league for one season.. He works for a business now that will insist on results but they WILL also make available the funding to get them. We could not be in safer hands with PC and i for one are right behind him, even if it takes two seasons to get out of this league...which i doubt!! COYB |

WOW. Has Christmas just come early because Santa has just delivered a pressie off my wish list!! How long has it taken us long suffering fans to finally get to this point! Fantastic news. I don't care if we lose every game left this season now because in PC i trust. At long last a manager that sees it as it is, says it as it is, understands our frustrations and more importantly, has the ba**s to do something about it. The pride will slowly return to PR and trust me, its long overdue. |

Ok, so finally i think i can smell the roses. How long has this taken? This club has been my everything since the 70's and I've followed it through thick and thin, even when I've lived abroad with the forces - I'm 57 now!! You spend every Tuesday and Saturday thinking its going to turn and you do what you can to support the club, buying the latest strips and attending all the games that work around your career, even though i live 200 miles away! Surely now its become apparent that this squad is not good enough? It lacks depth and quality! How much longer can we be expected to endure this agony? PC will not get this club back to the championship or beyond unless there is some investment in players. Thanks to Hurst we have a squad of 'has been' L1 and 2 players along with the aged hangers on that he could not get rid of. It will take 2 or 3 seasons to sort this mess and build an attacking squad that gels / can compete for promotion / works for the club/town and more importantly plays the 'Ipswich way'. These are the most depressing times i can ever remember to be a town fan. Honestly, i will eat my words if we make the play off's but i think deep down, there can not be one town fan out there now that truly believes its a strong possibility? The honeymoon period under PC is over before its begun. The only option left for us is to ensure L1 safety and clear it out over summer. TBH - who is going to want them? Sad times :( |
