 | Forum Thread | amazing season at 12:54 24 Apr 2025
the more i read about whats going on at other clubs - the more i realise what an amazing effort ITFC have put in this year - when I hear A.Villa looking at buying Debruyne - a team that couldnt beat us - how much money so many of these clubs have chucked at the season and how far we've come in 2 calendar years its gob smacking that we've accumulated the points we have ..... and don't worry there are more points to come ........ I honestly think if you are a fan and you want to criticise our manager or any of the team - not saying you don't understand football - but you have no understanding of the business workings of these other clubs and just how far ahead of us they are ...... seems to me we must have started all games with a group of players who were in league one in early 2023 - quite remarkable - and some of them performing very well at this level. I strongly believe that it was always part of our longer term plan to probably spend a couple of years bobbing up and down between the Prem and the championship - it will take that to give us the proper grounding to compete Well done ITFC for 3 incredible seasons - probably the best since 1978-1981 (not withstanding 99-2001 ) cannot get more excitement if we tried - and now next season we have a really interesting journey ahead of us ..... |

anyone got any faves for me I've been impressed with so many managers in the PL have had nothing but good things to say about Ipswich and pretty much all of them have shown us a lot of respect both before and after the game ...... except Marco Silva - an absolute ASS of a man .... how does he keep his job ? highly strung, awkward, etc - guess he's kept them up but Jeeps i don't like him. Even Pep has been humbled with some level of dignity ...... overall they are a good bunch of managers |
 | Forum Thread | Trump/ UK at 09:49 28 Feb 2025
So at last the UK has a chance for a proper Brexit as was promised and never delivered by a bunch of successive UK P.M's ..... Trump is basically saying we'll give you some huge trade deals, we wont apply any Tariffs to you - the rest of the EU gets hit next week.... so break ties with the EU properly (because lets face it we haven't) remember who your only "true" friend has ever been - and Propser - but oh no watch the UK and Starmer screw this one up and all the EU lefties and liberals come out of the woodwork ... who incidentally should understand there will be no EU within 3 years - watch the UK snatch defeat from the jaws of victory........... |

more interesting than watching the games for sure ...... its been a great few years and its as interesting as hell - for me the next big "thing" will be who are the rats who will leave the sinking ship at the end of the season - I suspect fewer than people think ...... At least we'll have something to play for next year ? One expression that irritates the hell out of me is "established" premier league club - no such thing unless your talking top 3 and even then ? what happened to those other established premier league clubs Stoke, Bolton, Charlton ? there is nothing to play for in the prem at present except 4th from bottom - we need to consolidate in the Champ for a season or two and then give it another try - anyone - including Delap - with a functioning brain cell will stay on at the club as they have a lot to prove and yes I do think we'll bounce straight back - but there's a lot of work to do |
 | Forum Thread | what peeves me - purely from a business standpoint at 09:22 16 Feb 2025
is that there is so much "average " talent exchanging hands in the premiership for 50 million + and look at Chelsea - 1.3 billion spent and that's what you get ? So Liam Delap - without any doubt at all the next Alan Shearer, the natural replacement to Harry Kane and without doubt worth at least £100 mill - so why is it if things don't go our way (and after yesterdays performance I'm not saying for a minute we wont stay up) - that he'll probably leave for 40 mill and everyone will think that's good business - coz it ain't - don't know how we ever managed to get him for the pittance we paid and bravo to ITFC for doing so As for our keeper - if his value didnt go up 5 fold after yesterday then there is no common sense in this game for me ... and just saying ... that was the greatest save in the history of foot ball - and if not then it draws level with Gordon's save against Pele - just totally unreal |
 | Forum Thread | how the hell at 17:22 15 Feb 2025
is that team in the position its in the league ? i thought with 11 men we would have easily won it - we look at worse like a 12-14th position club ....... well done and keep going - 3 points from the next 2 games will do us well - although 6 is possible ! |
 | Forum Thread | is it me ? at 14:36 1 Feb 2025
yes ok it probably is - but i thought we played 10 times better in the opening 30 mins against man city than forest played and they win 7-0 ....... absolutely nothing you can really pin your hat to other than clinical finishing by Forest - nothing really stood out - except the result - where the hell is it not working for us - I think we often play better football than i see forest play and yet here we are ....................... |

 | Forum Thread | A better Few Days than You Think at 08:33 31 Dec 2024
First of all - obviously well done Ipswich - I live in Italy and I managed to get BBC radio Suffolk and listen to the analysis and game commentary recap - wow what a feeling !!!! I honestly honestly think Man Utd, West Ham and Everton are going to fall into the mix at the bottom - don't be fooled by seasons past and reputation i.e. Man Utd - they are in a fight to stay up as said their manager last night - when you look back we really did drop 2 points against them rather than picking up a point ! Anyway that being said - the more teams in the mix the far better I rate our chances and at this stage we have a bit of momentum brewing compared to those aforementioned clubs - I really do think we 'll stay up - but right now I'd hate to be a Man Utd fan - even with the one Billion Pounds of players they own ... wouldnt swap their whole team for Delap and Hutch |
 | Forum Thread | Good display on the whole at 07:24 28 Dec 2024
watched on TV from Italy - the net was I thought we gave a very good account of ourselves all factors given - totally disagree Omari had a terrible game - thought he did what was expected of him - Also thought Broadhead looked sharp as hell when he came on and gave them a run or two - very very good Mr Nathan ..... Schmodics did not impress me - two clear cut opportunities to score - perhaps the 20 seconds in to the second half was even clearer than 20 seconds into the first half - that would have won us the game - so that was disappointing ..... overall at the whistle went to bed happy and with belief - again - that we are a few adjustments away from a real chance to stay up - how will that happen ? 3 back to back wins at some point , a handful more draws and a couple of sporadic home wins - that will give us 31-35 points - gotta hope thats enough - and dont forget one club (maybe 2) above us will hit a really bad 2025 run and get drawn into the mix |
 | Forum Thread | Christmas at the Players House ? at 11:56 24 Dec 2024
What do we think the routine is ? is there any training done on Christmas day or will the players be in today and get tomorrow off before the short trip Friday ? so if they are at home tomorrow what do we think are the orders from staff about diet ? no croquettes , yorkies and no pigs in blankets and hands off the kids choccies or are they given a free ticket on Christmas day - cannot believe they'd be allowed to drink and early nights all round >? I remember once the Sunday times magazine - a life in the day - was Ryan Giggs - apprently he had one blow off a week which was typically Sat night if no game sunday which was 2 pints and sausage and chips from the local on the way home - that really was it ! (well the other stuff he probably wasn't caught out on) |
 | Forum Thread | Good Managers at 12:26 23 Dec 2024
So much tripe on this forum about Kieran and what may / may not happen. He is an exceptional manager and will be with us - hopefully - for the next 5 years. Robson / Ferguson - all got given many years and the contract ITFC have with K will be of similar ilk.... Keep saying we have a long term plan at the club - realism of the owners probably means an acceptance that we may need to go down and we're still on track to be good enough to stay in the prem 3-5 years down the line...... for now I still dont think its that bad ... Look at other clubs around us - made our result look nothing untoward ..... If people think we are going to beat Ara owned billion pound football clubs at this stage - forget it ? can we finish with 3-5 teams below us - ABSOLUTELY - we can and are still right in the mix to achieve that ...... KM has brain .... he aint going anywhere |

 | Forum Thread | Read Between the Lines at 11:26 8 Dec 2024
If we stop analysing every game and look at the big picture there are the right sort of noises coming out of the investors / backers, etc - IMHO the plan ITFC have in place is one that fully covers a trip back to the Championship - I think McKenna is onboard with that too - why not ? 18 months ago we would have chewed someone's arm off to be playing championship football and now its a fate worse than death - thats the Human brain for you ..... so basically I think they will act smart in the January transfer window, do everything in the clubs power to stay up but no panics if we go down for a season - yes all clubs say we will bounce back but I'm pretty certain there will be no major "leavers" and no major drama if that happens - only a period of consolidation. As for todays game - and the thing I love about KM - is the total B/S that its a must win or things look bad if we lose ..... football is a very funny old game (thanks Greavesey) and a struggle into FEB and one run of 5 wins changes everything - its about other clubs too ! I think / still maintain every kick of the ball this season should be enjoyed as a miracle as to how far we came so quickly and whatever happens will happen - its not life and death ..... enjoy todays game |

Not a great start - nobody at all is to blame - the manager is fantastic and the squad is fantastic - the real issue - the real place to take out your frustration - and boy did i feel frustrated after Saturday - is on what football has become - a surreal nonsensical place where only money wins 99% of the time - What Leicster did was amazing but I doubt we'll ever see it again .... its all about the money and the rest is 90% promotional razz a matazz and 10% about football - its a horrid place in the Premier League nowadays - way back when it meant something and now its all about money - I seem to recall Man City had a player on their bench when we visited worth more than our entire spend ... The funny thing is that despite all the doom and gloom i actually suspect we will stay up and some, and that will only come from one place - the same determination and togetherness we showed for the last 2 years - either do it that way or get relegated but please don't become a sanitised team in a sanitised stadium in this league thats sole ambition is 4th from bottom [Post edited 21 Oct 2024 8:17]

Indulged myself - and quite a little emotional I have to say - last night watching youtube highlights of us over the 2 back to back promotion seasons - what an absolutely magical time and fantastic group of players. It made me realise just how much Conor , Burns, Broadhead - not to mention many of the others - contributed to our success and how well they played ! It now worries me - particularly with Chaplin that although he is part of a Premier League Squad and "potentially" he'll get his chance - I suspect he wont sit around forever waiting - he's always going to be a Championship type top goal scorer and a few Premier league teams may consider him first or second choice for his role. My favourite player has been Broadhead for a couple of years and same rules apply - going from absolute central and succesful roles to third and fourth choice type players may last a while - but I suspect not too long. Lets see |

No drugs involved here i feel just a tad disappointed we didnt get more from that given our performance - fatal error for me was sitting back too deep in the first half and yes city could have gone in 5-1 on that basis - but for 40 mins in the second half i thought we frustrated the hell out of them and looked much better going forward - apart from the header just before their 4th i dont think they caused us any issues in the second half taking an objective view based on what Ive seen so far i'll be very disappointed if we don't finish at least mid -table - this team will become very hard to beat - very hard - so many positives again today - Johnson i thought was good and both Schmods and Delap are going to be one huge handful for defences the rest of the season ! Omari showed so depth and class and defensively any lesser teams would have come away today down by 6 or 7 |
