Went and watched the game on Saturday, excellent to see a Town hero in John McGreal coaching the Colchester youth team also see old faces such as Tony Humes and Richard Hall does slightly frustrate me when i see these guys at Colchester and not Ipswich. I must admit Colchester United were much the better team and deserved the result on another day it could have been 8 or 9 - 1 but fair the boys dug in and nicked a result. Very impressed with a Colchester player don't no he's name played on the wing but would certainly like to see him in a Ipswich shirt surely we can get Wordsworth to have a word and poach him. |

Must admit very supprised to see alot of these lads been offered proffessional contracts i have watched the youth teams play many times over the years and as for U18s level i can honestly say it is the worse side i have seen.
On the positive side at least these lads get the opportunity now to develop technically and physically and hopefully will become better players. |

My boy is a youth player and I am up there 3 times a week including weekend and I can honestly say I have not seen him there once. It's a well known fact at ipswich that he don't care about the youth this has been made clear on numerous times. |

Well my mates have boys in various ages and they have never seen him anyway being at the club means nothing taking time out to watch the youth and speak to them is what counts yes your right Roy keane never done it Jim Magiltion did he was excellent the last two wallys have been awful it's well known jewell has no time for youth look at he's signing all old expeienced players who lets be honest are past it I think the club will be a better and happier place when he's gone |

This is a classic Clegg has had to come out and defend the academy at the moment because it is currently branded the worse academy to be at and a JOKE hence why their are so many complaints. All Clegg is trying to do is BLIND the fans with this rubbish and paint over the cracks. When boys get offered pro contracts and turn them down it speaks volumes especially when these boys have been at the clubs years since they was young striving for that pro contract. 1 you can accept but there has been so many now it's obvious there are problems. |

Bluetown I have nothing against the boy I want him to do well but fact of the matter is he clearly aint good enough and has been a victim of PJ pathetic stupid ways in "biggin" up a player just purely to make it aware to fans he has an interest in youth when in fact all he is doing is destroying the lads confidence now i think its wrong and the best thing for this boy now is to be sent out on loan and get . Yes you are right he's seen him play for the reserves and train with the first team so on the last day of the season in a nothing game with Cressie being injuried the only actual left back we have is White why does he not play him???? That on its own says alot of things to me. Obv you no him better then me does the lad deserve a 2 year pro contract is he good enough? Lets hope they have seen some potential in there and they just havent got it out of him which makes me then question them and the job their doing. |

The boy is the worse footballer in the under 18s team i have been told he is a year older so next year he will actually be a 3rd year not a 2nd year so why has he not been offered pro? Also player of the year but got left out of the youth team please explain that to me? You can have as much drive and enthusiasim in the world but if you havent got the ability it counts for nothing and this boy has no ability iv seen him play midfield and he constantly gives the ball away the pace thing is true iv seen milk turn quicker i went to ipswich v norwich youth game this season and he played left back and the norwich winger was roasting him everythime i actually felt sorry for the lad it was embaressing. Yet another player being "bummed" up just to be knocked back by a deluded manager. JEWELL OUT!!!!! |

Basically what has happend Paul Jewell come in to the club decided to offer Joe White a 2 year pro without seeing him play which bemused I think nearly every person at the academy including Joe White himself and all of the coaches because no dis respect to the lad he is a very very average player in the under 18 team so to then go with the 1st team no wonder he lacks confidence, clearly he aint good enough obviously now PJ has realised and is coming out with this absoulute BULL!!! about how he has not progressed just to cover hes back. Also as for self belief from what I have heard Russell Osman is clearly not the man to be playing for iv seen the under 18s play and not heard him shout 1 constructive thing out to help the boys just screammed and had a go at them and been more botherd about the referee's. All in all i think PJ and Osman are doing a fantastic job at killing the fantastic reputation Ipswich had for bringing youth players through. |

This is a prime example of a manager trying to sell a young player iv seen this boy play in the under 18s in which he has struggled so to put him in the 1st team and constantly "BIG" him up is pathetic and not fair on the kid just trying to bump he's price up. Very similar situation to Joe White the way Jewell was talking about him last year he was the next best thing and when Cressie gets injuried he still dont play him and has slaughtered him in the press, Jewell is destroying the youngsters confidence now which is wrong. You should never build a youngster up to something there not to then knock them down. Josh Carson is twice the player Lawrence is andI have seen both play for the under 18s. The sooner Jewell is out the club the better |

My mates boy is a youth player at Chelsea and he said that Chelsea sent a very young team due to playing in the FA Youth cup on Thursday night and that it was an under 16s team with under 15s playing and that Ipswich was mainly second year's so kind of takes the gloss of the result considering some boys were giving 2-3 years away. |

I agree with NewBoy you are right Paul Jewell hasnt got a clue from the first to the youth. The first team is an absolute disgrace at the moment and all the things I have about the youth set up don't sound much better. The man is ruining the club along with clegg and by the sounds of it Osman what i am confused with is where is Sammy Morgan he is head of youth isnt he? I dont seem to hear anything about him just Osman he is only 18s manager surely Morgan is above him? |
