Just seen the forecast for tomorrow, looks horrendous, heavy rain all day. Could be a very damp walk to and from the station. I would imagine Blackburn have coverings for the pitch? |

Taking out a mortgage so that WB Junior and I can go by train. Leaving Ipswich on the 0758 via Peterborough and Leeds. Forest are at Burnley so might bump into a few of them at Leeds Station. |

Wondering if I'm the first, or one of the first, to begin a pre-match session? First beer of the day in the Bull Inn. Looking like it's going to be a very pleasant afternoon. |

There is a continual debate amongst cricket followers about he pros and cons of The Hundred, and I can see both sides of the argument. Last night I had the privilege to be at The Oval to witness one of the greatest onslaught of hitting I have ever seen in such a short space of time. Invincibles smashed the previous record by scoring 226 for 4 in a 100 balls, with Jordan Cox bludgeoning 86 in 29 balls. In total there were 25 sixes in the match, another competition record. Whatever the merits of the competition, 26,000 people were entertained as never before, lots and lots of youngsters, some enjoying their first taste of live cricket on a beautiful South London summer evening. Seriously, what's not to like? |

Outside of football, may I offer you former Woodbridge resident Brian Peter George Jean-Baptiste de la Salle Eno. |

And yet they are making steady progress through the Champions League qualifiers....should see off their opponents this week and face a final qualifier against either Red Bull Salzburgh or Club Brugge to make it to the untold riches of the Group Stage. |
 | Forum Reply | Now, what do we do…. at 11:33 5 Aug 2025
This is the perfect response. As well as following Town I am a member of Surrey CCC. Only last week at the Test Match we were reminded of the tragic story of Graham Thorpe. For a couple of years, members were simply advised that Thorpey was unwell. No one was aware of the hell he and his family were going through until the ultimate horrendous conclusion. I'm not comparing this to the current Omari situation for one second, but my point is that none of us are ever fully aware of the mental health of most people, let alone players who we follow avidly but are completely detached from us on a personal level. He might just need a break and will return on Friday night refreshed and raring to go, but in the meantime we should respect his decision not to go to France on Saturday and give the young man our full support. |

Looks like two sections still to be allocated....would be great if we could go a long way towards filling the whole stand. |
 | Forum Reply | Away Ticket Profiles at 10:30 30 Jul 2025
I'm in the same position. I think it could even go to general sale, as Preston will release more tickets if the demand is there. Should be the same for Blackburn. Some of the midweek away games could well go to season tickets or even general.....maybe Bristol City, Hull and Middlesbrough. |

Apologies for previous misleading information....there appears to be only one lane open in each direction. I don't get out of Woodbridge much. |

Seems to be open both ways now. |

Full House in 1.14. Couple of tricky ones though. |
 | Forum Reply | Alf's 5 forwards at 12:01 17 Jul 2025
Yes, a very good article...one other refinement, the right winger was Roy "Rocky" Stephenson, those of us that played local cricket a few decades ago would also remember him as a decent wicketkeeper/batsman. Doug Moran was more of an inside forward, supporting Crawford and Phillips and he certainly weighed in with his fair share of goals from that position. What the OP has done is reinforced my opinion that Alf was our best ever manager. He was as innovative as any manager in English football since WW2, took a nondescript side from the third division to become champions of England, a one-off never to be repeated, and although of course Bobby produced three great sides, a deal of credit should go to Bobby Ferguson for his tactical innovations, whilst Alf did it all himself. We will never know of course, but it is interesting to speculate how we would have progressed had Alf not been called up for the England job. |

WB Junior also doing Adelaide and Melbourne, going with the Barmy Army. Hellishly expensive but it's his gap year so a great opportunity for him. |
 | Forum Thread | Burnt Mill Brewery at Woodbridge at 18:47 13 Jun 2025
Anybody tried the craft beers brewed by Burnt Mill? WB Junior has recently started working at Hopsters on Woodbridge Quay and in the interest of keeping him company I have been working my way through the menu of beers. Very good choice, including an 8% option, can recommend this bar particularly on a nice summer evening. Decent restaurant next door (The Boathouse) and a pizza restaurant (The Woodyard). |

Yes, that's good too. Simply called "The Cafe". A very good alternative to The Whistlestop. Closed on Tuesdays I think, so it's a really decent option on Wednesdays and Thursdays. |
