McKenna now off to Chelsea
at 19:32 21 May 2024

They are a truly, truly awful club. Arrogance beyond belief. Dislike them far more than any other club. McKenna would be totally crazy to even think about taking the job if he was offered it. Thankfully (for you) he is far from crazy so I don't think you have anything to worry about here.

Norwich fans arrested?
at 18:20 12 May 2024

Not condoning any sort of stupid behavior like this but the facts may / may not support the speculation. This is an alternative thought on the matter.................

People assuming this is true may want to wait for the facts. There was an altercation and a can was thrown causing that injury. No one was slashed and that guys “dad” who apparently had his throat cut head butted a lad shortly before hand.

Intimidating atmosphere at Carrow Rd today
at 17:30 12 May 2024

Re your point about the atmosphere. Did you actually go to the game? No, of course, you didn't. Sky TV coverage of any match pre kick off is rubbish. Stuffed full of studio analysis and adverts.

Biggest myth - norwich have a loyal fanbase
at 11:13 9 May 2024

Yet we have sold all our allocation for the away leg within 48 hours and that is (of course) not knowing whether Leeds will beat us Sunday. The remaining tickets for Sunday will soon go I would imagine but the £36 price tag irrespective of quality of view has wound up a few locals.

If you actually bother to research the past FORTY years (!) you will soon discover that our league position has been vastly superior to yours. Not 'every' season I admit (even a broken clock is correct twice in a 24 hour period) but for the majority of that time we have been in the ascendancy. That is a FACT. Sorry to spoil your obsession but do try and keep up.

Do we want Nodge to win the play offs
at 19:10 6 May 2024

Oh I think you will watch them! You can't resist it such is the peculiar Ipswich obsession with all things Norwich.

Another thing - ITFC fans have moaned for years about 'media bias' and 'no coverage' etc. What do I find on Sky main news tonight at 18.00 as one of the main headlines at the start? I'll leave you to work that out and it wasn't anything to do with 'the economy' or 'Ukraine' even!

Agree with both points. Not all Yellows are 'bitter' but many are. If you find my post on the subject in the thread 'Mentally Weak', I gave what I considered to be a dignified and sportsmanlike verdict. The vultures soon descended on me though! However, my post got 5 'Likes' when I last checked so not all Yellows are so blinkered. Would imagine this forum would show similar disdain if our seasons had been swopped.
For us it has been (largely) an uninspiring season despite arriving in the play offs. Unless (somehow) the mood changes dramatically over next few days, we will arrive at FCR next Sunday fearing the worst. If that plays out then the fire sale of Rowe, Sara and USA will begin soon thereafter.
Anyway, I would add a note of caution to your current, unlimited euphoria. The awful PL is streets harder than when we finished midway in the Lambert season after our 'back to backs' and certainly way harder than when the boy Burley took you to 5th place and Europe in 2001. Old third division clubs like Brentford and Bournemouth may not be as 'massive' as ITFC but even they can cause you very serious problems! Enjoy your fantastic success (and I mean that sincerely albeit through gritted teeth!) but the 'fun' might quickly evaporate once you get going in August.

Surprised no-one has mentioned frantically building a fall out shelter for when Russia breaks through the Ukrainian lines in the summer!

Really? You seem to have forgotten, Sara, Sainz and Rowe. One might suggest all would easily get into your starting 11.

Todays ticketing

Not a Town fan as you know and I've no idea whether NCFC do similar but i would be furious if we did this for our trip to Ipswich. Its all about allocation and if you had say 4k tickets then 400 isn't quite so bad. With the 2k allocation then you need all the really vociferous fans you can get.

For what it's worth, i think you will still get automatic. Titanic struggle at the top anyway. Great result for us today but it may not cause you lasting damage.

Agree with that. the Saints game took a lot out of you and you looked flat until last few minutes when the ex Womble guy came on who has genuine pace. Burns and Hirst being fit for the play oofs if it comes to that could be the edge you need.

He confirmed this pm that Rowe will not feature.

One player I haven't mentioned is 'Nacho' Another one who Wagner has tried to shoehorn into the 'CDM' role despite denying that we needed such a position at the start of the season! Neither Nacho, Sara or McLean are a patch on Skipp who played the true CDM role in the 20/21 promotion season. He protected the back four, started all the attacks and (most importantly) tracked the bloody runners! He was pivotal that season and just as important as Pukki and Buendia.
However, what Nacho does offer is a top notch free kick speciality so if you were to keep giving away free kicks just outside your box on Saturday then expect the worst.

I wonder what snake-like activity Delia has planned for Saturday 🤔
at 19:40 4 Apr 2024

I remember that. Fans were pretty stunned when it was displayed on the scoreboard. It was embarrassing and totally out of order. Would find it difficult to believe that The Cook was involved but as you have inside information then I take your word for it. For what it's worth I never use that word, I find it very offensive. I prefer something more civil like 'effing bar stewards'!!

Yes Sara did sit deep for several games. Looked out of place as he got caught dozing and was slow to respond. Totally different player when pushed forward.

Sargent basically plays as a lone striker with Banes behind (largely because he can't keep up!).
Rowe did a hamstring at QPR on Feb 10th and is only just back 'on the grass'. Probably end April before they risk him.

Norwich fans are stunned by what's happened this season down the A140 / A14. Not one of us saw it coming and I very much doubt there are many Town fans who put any money on automatic promotion. What has been impressive is the complete 'togetherness' on and off the pitch with no infighting, rival cliques etc. In contrast we have been riven by internal dissent, protracted 'takeover' and condescending remarks aimed at the fans made by the owner and ex Sporting Director. Yes the crowd will be 'up for it' Saturday but that will not be 'par for the course' this season. It's nothing to do with feeling 'entitled' or anything like that but feeling being taken for granted and ridiculed by the owner. A lengthy 'stand off' between the club and the local media only served to fuel that divide.
The recent upturn in form / results has helped but the ill feeling continues to simmer just below the surface. Take the Leicester away match. We always take a big following there and sold our allocation. However the club only asked for 2k as they thought few would travel. They do nothing by way of positive communication with the fans. We have no Chairman and no CEO with (until recently) two married couples running the show and immune from objective criticism. That is not the way to run a successful professional football club at this level. One can but hope that Attanasio (If he ever does assume control) will take a different strategy.

How charming of you!
I do post on No 2. for your information.

'Attention seeking'? Er, No. I like the banter but unlike most posters either on here on Norwich Forums, I'm objective enough to give credit where and when ii's due and currently you (well not 'you' personally of course) deserve every plaudit going for the turnround at the club in the last 16 months.

Yes - USA does look a lot like Art Garfunkel for sure!

However, your description of our midfield is, er, slightly 'wide of the mark' as you'll see Saturday. Sara walks into your starting eleven with ease.

It's possible as McLean did a good job there. Sorenson is not a centre back in a million years especially against someone like KM! Duffy could handle him in the air. Sorenson would have been destroyed (as would McLean in that sort of battle). Problem is that there is no obvious midfielder to come in if you move McLean back. Gibbs would be the obvious choice but Wagner clearly doesn't trust him and instead has had this strange tactic of trying to play Gibbs as more of a striker (which he clearly isn't!).
