 | News Comment | Chaplin: The Club is in a Much Better Place Than it Was a Year Ago at 12:42:20
Understand why players want to sound positive but don't see how we are better off than a year ago. We have taken two steps forward from League 1 days but past 12 months represents 3 steps back as we now have to rebuild the team to compete in what will be a difficult championship. Can't expect to get 95 points again and that is being realistic. |
 | News Comment | Leicester City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 18:46:24
Too much stating the obvious on here but losing matches is sometimes a hard habit to break and if McK does not start next season well, just like Burley in 2002 he will be out of a job. In order to turn things round he needs to seriously strengthen midfield as without a combination of solidity, energy and creativity in that area there is a significant negative impact on both attack and defence. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Know It's a Big Challenge to Stay in the Division But I Still Believe at 10:21:06
Reluctant to be too hard on the manager after all he has achieved but it is very disappointing to see the way he has made the team worse as the season has gone on, not better as many of us anticipated. He has to take some responsibility for the players he has brought in and all the changes, week to week. Be very interesting to see what any new manager does with this squad back in the championship. I cant see Kieran sticking around if we are relegated, which seems almost inevitable now, though hope I am wrong. |
 | News Comment | Palmer: Time For Me to Embrace a New Challenge at 10:21:08
I know our goalkeepers have cost us quite a few points this season but the lack of goals is equally problematic...less than one goal per game average is a recipe for relegation in itself, with hardly any goals from midfield so we need to find a way of supporting Delap more, Enciso, Hutchinson and Philogene have to step up. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Southampton - Match Report at 17:53:14
Funnily enough its a bit like 2001/2 when Burley made some poor transfer decisions, though not £100m worth and then compounded things by not working out what his best team was, albeit with a much smaller squad. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace - Match Report at 09:43:23
Whatever the shortcomings of this team...and there are many... you have to reflect on the fact that the Premier League has never been stronger and that if we cannot compete with a good manager & having spent over £100m then it is inevitable that most promoted Championship sides will go the same way...back down. However clubs like Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford have proved that it is possible to find the right formula for survival, sometimes it takes more than one go. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace - Match Report at 22:23:30
Agree lack of quality plain to see but I thought Palace defensively did a good job on us & they will start moving up the league. Also unfair to be too critical of J Clarke as he has not had much game time from the start and had a few moments in the first half, though his final ball as with most of the others, was poor. to give us a decent chance of staying up I had us on 16 pts from first 19 matches so 2 wins from next 5, or probably 2 from next 3 ...I can still dream, just!! |

MOD2 pundits cant be any worse than the unmentionable geordie was in his 40 secs after the Brentford game. So bad I made an official complaint to the BBC for which I am promised a response....still waiting !! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Incredible Game, Positives But Extreme Disappointment and Devastation at 12:13:14
Anyone else upset about the coverage on MOD, namely the post match analysis? This consisted of Alan Shearer making a condescending remark about K Mc and then producing stats to show that Town were the worst team in the PL and faced relegation! Tell us something new. Nothing positive about the goals, Delap's last minute shot or debate about the penalty and sending off which were not as clear cut as Theo Walcott made out and are normally included. Absolutely pathetic and I have complained to the BBC though am not expecting an apology from Gary. To loosely borrow from a Kevin Keegan rant I would love it if we can get our first win next Saturday |
 | News Comment | AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Ipswich Town (4-2 on pens) - Match Report at 22:49:19
Not great, but patience needed. I think or at least hope that we might be like Bournemouth last season when they went 7 or 8 games without a win at the start but with a good manager and players turned things around and comfortably survived.. |
 | News Comment | Manchester City 4-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:27:29
Not going to condemn Muric to the dustbin after one game but McK needs to sort gkeeping position quickly as we cannot afford gifts in close games. Just look at what happened to Burnley last year. Hladky made very few mistakes last year. |
 | News Comment | Town Working on Deal to Sign Burnley Keeper at 14:58:06
Just like Trafford he made a couple of real bloopers but was under a lot of pressure behind a leaky defence. I'm getting a few Sereni vibes about this though he came from Italy and was not the main reason for our relegation |
 | News Comment | McKenna Speculation Continues at 14:08:31
My first and last comment about all this hysterical speculation which is souring the post season euphoria. I see one article has already mentioned Rob Edwards as a possible replacement. Signing out...back in a months time when hopefully all this drama has subsided and we can concentrate on the transfer market and prep for the new season in the PREMIER LEAGUE. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-0 Huddersfield Town - Match Report at 14:55:31
In 2002 after our relegation from the PL I wrote to David Sheepshanks, then chairman, to say I thought it was a disaster for the club & that we would take a long time to recover. Needless to say he did not agree. Twenty two years later against the odds we are back and as a Town fan of 68 years I can only say a massive thank you to the manager, players, owners, CEO and all you magnificent fans. I'm overwhelmed. |
 | News Comment | Leeds Thrashed at QPR at 23:18:26
I hope all you brilliant away fans can cheer the team on to victory tomorrow night and then the door will be wide open. |
 | News Comment | Leicester Thrash Saints to Go Four Points Clear at 14:06:29
Gazelle, echoes my own thoughts, if we can replicate those commanding away performances from last year against three play off teams. Know Hull & Coventry are a higher level but then for most of the season we have been playing at a much better level so if we can bring the necessary intensity and energy think our determination will get us over the line. Got to believe. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Proud of the Performance in Brilliant Game at 20:27:49
So long as Boro take points off Leeds I think we will do it, because then a win at Coventry and at home to Huddersfield will get us over the line, barring Saints winning their last five. A fortnights rest should help to produce better freshness and energy and who knows, Burns might be back and even Hurst ready to put in some minutes. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 Watford - Match Report at 22:57:35
The 2 weeks off after the Boro game could be priceless if we could get one or both of Burns and Hurst ready to play a part and they would be vital if we end up in the agony / lottery of the play offs. |
 | News Comment | Norwich City 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:04:03
Some of you will remember 1981 when we also lost1-0 to an inferior Norwich side during an end of season collapse which saw us hand the Div 1 title to Villa. Only difference is I 'd love finishing second this time. |
 | News Comment | Norwich City 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 14:54:19
Just about impossible to play with the same intensity week in week out. The play offs, if it comes to that, will be a great time to snap that 15 year wait. |
