| News Comment | Town Confirm Norwood Signing at 10:51:16
He reminds me of Kevin Phillips quite a bit, which is no bad thing. Based solely on goals per game over the past four years, this signing makes a lot of sense. Let's hope he can keep performing at the higher level . |
| News Comment | Collins Training With Town at 16:39:44
@midastouch - too true. I remember watching a 39-year-old John Wark play Alan Shearer (then 27) out of the match at Ewood Park many years ago. He was a brilliant reader of the game and made a fantastic sweeper in the period before the end of his career. |
| News Comment | Town Launch New Kits at 18:54:14
Did Mick choose that home kit on the way out as an act of revenge? |
| News Comment | Crowe Wins Cap as England U17s Beat Italy at 10:32:32
These youngsters are very impressive and Crowe is more than useful. I look forward to seeing him rampaging down the wing for Town very soon. |
| News Comment | Town to Sign Neymar Lookalike Cotter at 10:59:31
If buying Kiefer Moore for £10,000 pounds and selling him a year later for £750,000 is a dud deal, I want more dud deals. |
| News Comment | Garner Move Set to Be Completed This Week at 08:28:24
Daryl Murphy wasn't exactly going supernova at Celtic before he came to Ipswich where his goal scoring record improved significantly, so there's hope for Joe Garner yet. He should have some good years left in him and still has something to prove. Reserving judgement on this one. |
| News Comment | Berra: Too Many Drawn Games This Season at 06:28:01
It's what happens when you make the genius move of selling your top scorer a week before the season starts and replacing him with Leon Worst who has predictably been exiled to who knows where. Without Tom Lawrence, who has masked our dismal lack of goal threat, we would already be down. It's not all doom and gloom, though. In many of the drawn games, we have comparative stats in terms of chances created and attempts. Finishing is the problem, and if we can invest in a proven goalscorer, more of those draws can be turned into wins. Time to get the wallet out, Marcus. |
| News Comment | Aston Villa 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:10:19
McGoldrick has made a big difference since he came back and the energy in midfield brought by Diagouraga and Huws has been excellent. This was a big win. |

| News Comment | Bru: Important to End 2016 With Home Win at 11:05:15
Bru replaces Douglas and, with midfielders making attacking runs into the box, we score more than one goal. Bingo. Let's hope Mick makes the connection. |
| News Comment | Evans Backs McCarthy and Outlines Five-Point Long-Term Strategy at 10:38:59
It seems obvious that Marcus Evans' is happy for ITFC to remain in the Championship indefinitely. As previously stated, if 'hoping you might just get into the play-offs' is the owner's definition of ambition, you know you're in big trouble. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Enquiries Made But January Not the Best Time to Do Business at 11:01:53
He's right, but selling your best striker just before the transfer window closes without an adequate replacement is hardly the best example of good timing either, is it? It's painfully obvious we need a better goalscorer. Statistically, we have been matching the opposition over recent games in terms of chances created and shots on goal. The difference is that we cannot convert. This season is already predictable, miserable and stagnant with the exception of some promising performances from Webster, Grant, Lawrence and Bart. I'm convinced the addition of an efficient finisher would make a big difference. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Among Managers Linked With Villa But Bruce Strong Favourite at 10:03:57
The real problem is that the club's definition of ambition is 'getting into the play-offs' which, to me, reflects the gradual decline in status of ITFC since ME took over. It seems that the owner is content to sit in The Championship hoping that we will one day get lucky. All the while, the quality and spending power of clubs around us increases year by year. You can complain about MM (who has the best win rate since Joe Royle), but any other manager would be bound by the same constraints. We simply need more investment. |
