TWTD Questionnaire 2020/21

Q45 Where will the Blues finish in 2021/22?

Expectations are no doubt high going into 2021/22, even higher than they have been in the previous two seasons, although it's perhaps a little surprising that only 25 per cent are anticipating automatic promotion with 55.5 per cent predicting the play-offs.

But while expectations have been high ahead of the last two campaigns, there's been little in the way of actual belief from fans. Even though both those seasons started well, that the Blues drifted away from the running came as little surprise.

Despite the lack of results in his first couple of months at the end of the season, confidence in Paul Cook is high, while the signings that are being made have so far been given a widespread nods of approval.

That expectation will bring pressure but Cook knows that better than anyone and seems a man able to cope with it better than certain other recent incumbents.

It's a season which promises much for the Blues and one which fans - starved of their fortnightly visit to Portman Road for more than a year - can't wait to get started.

It seems we are optimistic for next season! But my grandma once told me that the tip to being an Ipswich fan and simultaneously being happy is to never ever get your hopes up.

In all seriousness, I think it will either be promotion or relegation this season. In a year's time we will either look at Paul Cook as a complete genius, or Paul Hurst 2.0
