TWTD Questionnaire 2022/23 Q15 Best away day during 2022/23?
Little shock that Barnsley is the most fondly remembered of the Blues' away days during 2022/23. There was plenty of choice, of course, with 12 games on the road ending in victory.
Peterborough, Derby and Bolton were similar as they came in that period of the late season when Town were unstoppable and sweeping aside teams with ease, even those which appeared on paper to be among those who might cause us a few problems. Thirteen wins out of 14 still seems slightly unbelievable.
Last year's MK Dons trip topped this category and the close to 7,000 crowds we've taken there in the last two seasons are almost certainly the biggest league away followings in the club's history.

The Barnsley game won this because we had so many there. In my opinion, the Derby game was the best experience of the season by miles. There were a lot of good ones though to be fair !!!

Best for me was Forest Green, first away game of the season on a lovely summers day in August. The journey from the coast of Suffolk via train, coach, train, bus, walking to the remote ground in beautiful countryside was fun with plenty of booze, and a win… Not sure if it would have had the same effect on a cold winters day in January!!!

I voted Barnsley but I guess that win at Bolton was important as it was the first of a series of difficult away wins | | | You need to login in order to post your comments
