Ipswich Town 2 v 1 Coventry City FA Premier League Saturday, 2nd December 2023 Kick-off 15:00 |
Maltster added 17:22 - Dec 2 I think that we were lucky to win today. Our defence was very poor in the second half. Luke Woolfendon's distributionwas awfull this close passing in your own penealty area ofted playing your collegue into trouble needs sorting out. We lost the bal so often in our own penalty area - a decent team would have murdered us. Don't playlike that against Nowich Pilgrimblue added 19:44 - Dec 2 Great first half and amazing goal from Wes. Coventry better than some but we loosened of 2nd which let them in. Penalty!! Linkboy13 added 21:57 - Dec 2 To many people on here expect us to steam roller teams every week it's not going to happen in this league against most teams with bigger budgets than us our most expensive player being 1 . 5 million. Our second half performance was a bit flat but the game should have been out of sight by then. So to say we were lucky is beyond me. UhlenbeekDownTheWing added 22:38 - Dec 2 Second goal was one of the best I have ever seen. The media will focus on the insane finish, but Woolfy and Hladky patiently passing in ‘square 1’ to create the opening for Chaplin to spray that pass to Davis. Amazing. Anyone complaining (like @Maltster) about Woolfy’s distribution needs their head seeing to. This is the best football I have ever witnessed. We are blessed. Enjoy it while it lasts. Robert_Garrett added 13:04 - Dec 3 Dismayed at the single goal right at the end from a never-in-doubt two nil lead. We have extraordinary players throughout the squad but Weesies goal will take some beating! Sometimes its a good idea to have an excellent goalie willing the penalty on the bar! Coventry are easily as good as WBA but the tactics were different today. Ellis Simms can see what he is missing today. The singing was brilliant from the 12th man squad Tractor Boyz. HorshamBlue added 15:31 - Dec 3 Amazing first half, including Wes's goal of course. But so sharp and slick around the box. A lot of passes went astray in the second half. It may sound churlish but it's becoming a habit to lower the sharpness after the break. Yes, the game was won but the opponents gain in confidence and we'll get caught out before too long.
