I thought Muric made a fantastic save, but apart from that I thought he was on edge.
These two games are a steep learning curve for sure. If we can get Phillips firing as he did for Leeds then he will give us far more energy in midfield.
Delap put in a good shift, and will prove a handful. Szmodics will score some goals in this league for sure.

was that Muric or Hlad lol? Davis is still playing in the Championship. Town needs to wake up fast and forget last season. Rays of hope from Szmodics and Delap who at least seem to know which league they're in

I thought that our back line did well. 2 very poor pieces of goal keeping and a silly tackle on the edge of the area gave them 3 goals! Their 4 th goal was unstoppable. How the ref and var missed the foul on Davies we will never know.
Perhaps the modifications to var mean that the top teams won’t be punished.
I hope that Walton is now given his chance

Observations:
Muric: Rare selection error from McK. Looked rusty and unfamiliar with system.
Greaves: struggled to track Haaland in first half. Improved in second.
Tuanzebe: did Ok, struggled against Doku, but who wouldn’t?
Woolfie: Did ok but needs to close down quicker.
Johnson: similar standard to Donacien. Struggled. Took our only corner of second half. Awful waste. Let Lief do that
Leif: got beaten again and again. Penalty was inevitable. Yet to hit form.
Mass: Really struggled. Lost possession many times. Poor passing and movement. His last game I think with Phillips and Cajuste coming in for next match. Morsy was having to direct him when he looked lost.
Morsy: way better than the rating on here. Didn’t pannick, got the ball down and played simple to feet. Tried to get us moving forward. Like he always does. Needs a better player beside him.
Szmodics: looks good at this level. Our best player today.
Omari: not much possession in first half. Looked lively in second. Worked hard.
Delap: worked hard up front on his own most of the time. Looks a good player
Taylor: was that his last chance to prove himself? The place next to Morsy is up for grabs. Losses possession too often. Hence responsible for 4th goal. Last Prem appearance for him I think.
Reinforcements coming in look more necessary now. 4-1 was flattering to us unfortunately. Should have been at least 7. On the positive side, we can’t play worse than that and City are incredible team.

Can't see any surprises here. Expected a 0-4 drubbing so s oring a goal is a bonus. It's a big learning curve but profit and pleasure will be the result of our hard working endeavours. COYB

Surprised Muric didn't get a lower rating. 2 unbelievable school boy errors, very slow to respond to Haarland's shot for 4th goal. Didn't even move for one shot that hit the bar. Don't understand this signing at all. Shame that Hldaky moved on to Burnley bench for whatever reasons as don't think he would have made such basic errors. Walton?? Championship player in my view. Interestingly if Muric hadn't made such stupid errors & the ref/ZVAR had done their jobs correctly we could undeservedly been 2-1 up at half time however it would have been totally against the run of play.
