No keypad tones are allowed on phones in any public situation. £500 fine 2. Physical cash to be phased out. 3. Nationwide education on how to use the word done. [Post edited 18 Feb 2017 13:44]

If you were prime minister what trivial laws/initiatives would you bring in? on 14:05 - Feb 22 by TractorWood | I prefer waitrose as it is less stressful. There is also the chance you might overhear hilariously middle class conversations. 'We'll be the laughing stock of the point to point if we don't at least bring a bottle of Tatty'. |
Shame you can't pay cash though eh? Ignoring all my points in favour of a flat denial has been noted

I think you need to take a step back and think about what is being suggested here, because you seem to be missing the point entirely.

If you were prime minister what trivial laws/initiatives would you bring in? on 14:06 - Feb 22 by The_Romford_Blue | The problem I've got with this post is how you make it sound like because I enjoy a bet at 18 and I've 'started early' it means I'm going to definetely become hooked and 'believe I'll win more bets than I lose'. Never do I believe that at all. I aim to make a profit but if not, oh well. I enjoy a Friday night at the dogs and coincidentally that's the only time I have made any consistent profit. The Saturday racing in the long term I'm probably down. Am I bothered? Not at all. I enjoyed the time spent studying the form and watching the races. The majority are like me that gamble. Just an extra to our lives - not a thing at the forefront hooker into problems |
I think some people fail to grasp that we can have a day betting on horses and spend less than the cost of a cinema ticket. I'd love to see a comparison of Ryorry's average loss over a weekend of racing and Lucan's pub bill for example.

If you were prime minister what trivial laws/initiatives would you bring in? on 11:59 - Feb 22 by AdmiralFunge | J2 - You're obviously well aware of my views on online gambling - from a selfish perspective, the more online gambling, the better, as far as I'm concerned. it's not all about me tho - there is far, far, far too much emphasis placed on online betting now - absolutely any sporting event is surrounded with bookie adverts. It's not on; in respect of advertising, bookies are to modern sport what tobacco companies were to 80s sport. Online gambling removes the 'realness' of money - I've had the fortune to walk out of Ascot and Newmarket on a couple of occasions with a wallet full of £20 notes; feeling invincible. I don't get anything like that same feeling with online gambling; it's just monopoly money, you know? It's ridiculously easy to click a tab and move from the Sportbook to the Casino, and punt cash through on a slot machine (which are the real villains in this instance). Madness, really. Slots are just random number generators - shove some flashing lights and a cheesy tune on them, and everyone goes dizzy for them. In summary, all bookies are scumbags. |
The thing that don't gambling antis don't understand is that i would 100% agree with what you've just posted. You wouldn't see me anywhere near a FOBT. Or a casino either. The amount of adverts is wrong. The ability to chase losses so quickly online is wrong. There is things in gambling that are so disgracefully wrong. But that doesn't mean the whole idea of betting should be removed.

If you were prime minister what trivial laws/initiatives would you bring in? on 12:17 - Feb 22 by itfcjoe | "As it is there are already restrictions to signing up with bookies online" I think you'd be surprised. When I did a bit of matched betting last year I managed to sign up with 20 bookies in the space of a few days without sending one piece of ID out, or even giving details of my ID. So that point isn't valid. |
I'd agree with you here actually too. I've realised fromaking advantage of the signup offers in recent weeks (just so I could stick another £150 - £200 on my Cheltenham horse for very little) that some haven't asked me for ID when I've taken out any winnings from the original sign up bet.

Bloody annoying when they ask for ID for withdrawals. Funny how you didn't care who I was when I was giving you money.

my son was much younger than that when he started using one of my accounts, but it was under my guidance, he would give me cash to deposit and when it was gone it was gone. under the correct stewardship it can be a good education, he now works in the industry and is one of the most disciplined punters that i know, he's bet a dog later today as it goes.

They reduce what others can see on the road ahead , which is particularly important to those on two wheels who really need to be able to anticipate any potential what hazards that may lie ahead. I might allow some exceptions e.g. a car adapted for wheelchair use, but ‘it’s my luuve wagon’ will not be one of them. I would recommend a jail sentences for those in possession of mirror/reflective rear windows.

It's not just a free supply, it's a limited supply to help them with their addiction to manage it so they don't cause anti social behaviour and suffering to others. Helping them to help themselves

If you were prime minister what trivial laws/initiatives would you bring in? on 14:39 - Feb 22 with 1002 views | Lord_Lucan | Directed at no one but while on the subject of gambling. I saw a programme a while back on a serious online betting bod that used to win a fair chunk of dough. He kept getting banned from online sites because he was always winning. Ended up that he was banned from everywhere. Now I am not a gambler as previously stated and don't like it because it can mess up families but it is nice to see the odd bod win. How on earth can licensed betting firms legally ban people from betting because they are good at it and win? That in itself should be illegal.

Betting on greyhounds on the early prices can quite quickly have accounts limited to pennies
