Just a pity no one hardly backs the song when played on match days maybe it's not trendy enough for our younger fans but I certainly like it ,once again it's a pity the club don't try and promote it by making it official could bring all fans together.

I've always liked it as a chant, and I probably only heard it for the first time when I was in my late teens or early twenties (nearly 30 now). Yes it's daft and perhaps a bit old-fashioned, but it's unique.
My bro's a Leicester fan. He heard it playing over the PA at Portman Road on his last visit and said "What was that tune of yours that sounds a bit Chas and Dave? Quite liked that."

For what it's worth, I always used to think this would be a good song for us to walk onto the pitch to. Good uplifting anthem of a song and also the title / chorus literally refers to the boys being back (home as opposed to away) and in Town (obviously... Town). Not sure about the rest of the lyrics necessarily, but a good fast tempo tune nonetheless...
"The Boys Are Back In Town"
Guess who just got back today? Them wild-eyed boys that had been away Haven't changed, haven't much to say But man, I still think them cats are great
They were asking if you were around How you was, where you could be found I told them you were living downtown Driving all the old men crazy
The boys are back in town
You know the chick that used to dance a lot Every night she'd be on the floor shaking what she'd got Man when I tell you she was cool, she was red hot I mean she was steaming
That time over at Johnny's place Well this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face Man we just fell about the place If that chick don't want to know, forget her
The boys are back in town [x8]
Spread the word around The boys are back in town
Friday night they'll be dressed to kill Down at Dino's bar and grill The drink will flow and blood will spill If the boys want to fight, you'd better let them
That jukebox in the corner blasting out my favorite song The nights are getting warmer, it won't be long It won't be long till summer comes Now that the boys are here again
The boys are back in town

Surely the one that would make the most sense (if we were not going to use Edward Ebeneezer) would be My Way? Sir Bobby's favourite song, at least we have a connection to it unlike picking some random song and trying to get it going.
