I think there are far too many people around who want to be shocked/disgusted/appalled by what some people say. They're incapable of ignoring those with opposing opinions so they go out of their way to silence them. They stifle discussion. They make society dull.

The problem here is the conversation has split and we're all now onto personal experiences and different posters.
I've never engaged enough with pazele, for example, to feel either way about him. He was easy to ignore if necessary.
