Yes, you're right, he was banned for that, but it was the straw which broke the camel's back - too many people didn't like the fact that he didn't spout the official view of everything.
There was plenty of warning about the content of the video he linked so nobody would have opened it by chance without knowing exactly what they were letting themselves in for. He wasn't glorifying the event either.
Perhaps he was banned for being insensitive to people's sensibilities and not regurgitating the official narrative on anything.

I think there are far too many people around who want to be shocked/disgusted/appalled by what some people say. They're incapable of ignoring those with opposing opinions so they go out of their way to silence them. They stifle discussion. They make society dull.
