Waterlogged pitch Friday? 19:40 - Oct 16 with 11506 viewsgtsb1966

Storm Babet set to hit the country and the forecast for Rotherham is awful with constant rain from Wednesday afternoon until kick off and beyond. I'll be surprised if the game goes ahead.

If it wasn't on Sky, I'd say it could be.

However being on Sky, surely they'll do everything they can to get this game on.

A certain game against Leicester springs to mind

Even if that means cancelling it at the last minute after everyone has travelled!

Poll: How many points do you think you'll need to get a ticket for Norwich?

If we can only win when the conditions are apparently in our favour then maybe we should give up on promotion. Settle for a nice comfy mid-table position. It's England and we play our season mostly in the autumn and winter. What kind of weather are we expecting? Let the officials make the decision if the conditions are that bad - but if we can't play in wind and rain and cold then we're going to struggle for a big part of the season.

Rotherham will be keen to play us in these conditions as it levels it out...bit like Oxford and the fog.

Do Oxford eat a lot of carrots?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Sounds like we should be using all our subs from the start

I’m currently at work in Wath upon Dearne, just outside Rotherham and there is no rain and a slight breeze………

It's up to officials - the match referee, or, if it's that bad on Friday morning, a local, professional ref can be called in for their decision.

Latest Met Office radar suggests Rotherham's gonna get the brunt of rain between 11am-3pm, with the worst of Babet passing through by 4pm. A few hours should be enough to prep/drain the surface, surely?

The thing is you'd hope they'd be making a decision by midday well before fans set off..

There's no chance that'll be possible. Radar suggests rain will subside from 3-4ish.

If they HAVE to make a decision by midday it'll be off then.

Yesterday a site was predicting 28mm for Rotherham on Friday. They’ve raised it to 71mm today.

Not looking too clever is it. I hope they make the call in good time if its going to be washed out.

Eek. Latest radar update now looks like solid rain until 7pm.

90% chance of it being off now, I reckon.

For the record as I'm sat "shirking" from home and looking out of the window up here in Sheffield the weather is as flat as a Witch's t1t

Nothing happening at all right now - nufink but I'll keep ya posted
