When was the last time anyone employed by Archant was able to write such a positive article about Town?

I believe a more relevant question would be "why was there never anyone with an Ipswich / Suffolk base who could provide a local newspaper"

At least their proposed new structure seems to be more viable than Towns 5 point plan.

Reckon that's the amount of points we'll get between now and the end of the season. Win against Birmingham, draw Wigan and draw Rotherham.

hurts to say this, but this is why they have had more promotions and 'relative' recent success than us, they act and are not afraid of change. This looks to be a very good appointment. I hope they are also not going after Wagner?

They appointed a Managing Director who will be involved in the appointment of the Sporting Director. Who in turn will be involved in the appointment of the new coach.

Meanwhile we wait for Mick to decide if he will stay. Which club is doing it right?

They got lucky with Lambert and Holt and made the most of the Premier League money. They've also appointed Gunn and Adams as manager out of desperation In recent years.

Of course they are better off than we are at the moment, but mainly on the back of the tv money. They need to make this new structure work before their parachute payments run out.

Talk of him orchestrating a revolution at Huddersfield seem OTT; they're doing what we did in 14/15 and may well remain a championship club. Rumours that they'll go for Giggs as manager which would be hilarious

that is a very good point; Mick being allowed to dictate his future is ridiculous and indicative of a complete failure of duty from Milne/Evans.

That article is painfully awful. Whichever Sub Ed let that through the net wants shooting.

"Nothing is ever guaranteed in football — but City’s recruitment of Stuart Webber arguably delivers as much as they can possibly manage in a sporting director, without it" hilarious gibberish.

Indeed, while they have obviously had a comparatively successful few years, they've been far from the most stable of clubs.

Assuming they don't go up this time around, an important season coming up for them adjusting to a non-parachute payment future in a year's time while at the same time trying to win promotion.

I think this is first time since 2008 that they haven't* been involved in either a promotion or relegation scrap at the end of the season. Would certainly help explain in part their decent crowds over that time period.

* and, scarily, they're not out of this year's play-off picture either...

This link really depressed me.

Everything he describes upon seeing Huddersfield is where we are at. The most depressing thing is, is that he was brought in to solve those problems whereas our club shows no desire to improve a thing.

Was talking with some of the journos there when we played them. If they don't go up before their parachute payments run out in the summer of 2018 then they thought they'll be in a not dissimilar situation to us financially. They seemed sceptical whether Delia would be in a position to put in the sort of sums ME has in most recent seasons.
