Town Back in Bottom Three
Town Back in Bottom Three
Wednesday, 17th Feb 2010 22:42

Town dropped back into the Championship’s bottom three after Reading’s 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening. The Blues now sit in 22nd place behind Palace who also have 33 points but whose goal difference is nine better.

A draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday would be enough to take the Blues above Palace depending on their result, while a victory could see Town leap ahead of the Owls in 20th, QPR in 19th, Reading in 18th and Scunthorpe in 17th if their games go the Blues' way. Town travel to Scunthorpe next Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Jon Stead made his debut for new loan club Coventry as a 56th minute sub as the Sky Blues lost 4-1 at Newcastle.

I can't wait for the season ticket renewal letter. What propaganda are we going to get for 2010/2011? 'Join in the Super Blues in their push for the conference' or 'Buy a season ticket to insure your place for our Johnstone paint trophy home games'.

For the money spent we either are very unfortunate in the players we have bought or there are deeper problems in the Club we are not aware of.

MAGILTON AND GORMAN must be wondering where they went wrong as they look down at our position. On there way to collect THERE JOBSEEKERS ALLOWANCE.

Unfortunately teams directly above us have found some form, Reading for one example. So it is GOING TO BE VERY HARD AS WE ALL KNOW

and then finally a gentle wave of realism engulfed them and they were horrified at what they gazed upon

better late than never i wonder sometimes .... the abuse and name calling i have put up with by simply stating the emperor has no cloths.i still believe the brainwashed keanites are to blame.theres none so blind as them that cannot see.etc..etc..

We've never had any form under Roy keane. 6 wins in 30 games (8 in 32 if you generously count last 2 games he babysat last year). It's been consistently terrible & at least everyone can actually see he isn't very good & doesn't have a plan. Stow - you talk about a leftback - we had Thatcher who might be a nasty person but he's still the best option we have at this level. Wasting something is a bigger crime than not finding something. Burley might not be right but don't let Sheepshanks off the hook. He earnt from the club as a professional Chairman & invested nothing but hot air & ego. The Chairman & man who signs the cheques is ALWAYS in charge. Burley didn't put Rohipnol in his tea - Sheepshanks had his own agenda.

As usual, Dobbie talks alot of sense. Lots of points still to play for and our support is needed. Relegation may happen and it will be a traumatic disaster if it does but it is by no means a certainty. Some of the doom mongers have already got us down and the underlying tone of their posts seems to me that to mount a fight to stay up is futile with Keane as boss. Get real! It's game-on and the least anyone can expect is for the players and the management to show the fight and determination to ensure we are playing in the Championship next season. In return, fans should show the same. There's a saying somewhere - "If you think you can or you think you can't - then you are probably right!" Positive thinking (not blind faith) is what we need and stop giving up with 16 games to go!

Plenty of points to fight for, 16 matches to go, half of them at home...so, as bad as our current situation is, there's still plenty of hope left...

And guys, its not as if the club have NOT dissappoint us before; whether missing the play-offs, getting relegated or being beaten by Inter Milan, its really part and parcel of supporting our beloved Ipswich Town..

If this is all causing you too much grief, then there is always Marn U-nayted...

Don't worry Benny . . The truth, Dobie or Bluelass will be along in a minute with a 'We're only 26 points off the playoffs' in a minute!!

I amazed at the people who have a pop at Clegg. In what way are any of you informed enough to criticise him? Do you sit on the board? Moronic.

Why can they never get the distinction that realising keane is a disaster & saying it on a fan site is not booing at the match, being negative at a match or trying to storm the boardroom? Does saying that results are rubbish & the manager appears clueless make you a lesser fan?

i didnt expect Palace to lose last night,so its even more dire than before, the dreamers keep saying back the manager, i just wish the board would come out and announce their full support,at least then we,d know Keane is on way out . THERE IS time for a new manager to turn it around,R K has shown no sign whatsoever of doing so,. M E is playing Russian Roulette, every week makes me whince,.Having the fixtures for remainder of season, brings no comforts ,when the bottom club ,with seemingly no hope, roll us over,

Magee you talk about Russian Roulette, yet you want a change of manager just as we come to the most important part of the season?

Nobody can sensibly argue that everything is hunky dory and Keane will deffo see us safe. However, 16 games to go. A table tighter than a duck's bum. Now is not the time to throw us into more chaos. I am not happy with where we are, but I will support the manager at games between now and the end of the season. I'm a fan, there is nothing more I can do.

Being able to recognise that we are in the smelly stuff, but still come to the conclusion that seeing this thing through to the bitter end is the best chance we have, does not make you a dreamer, blind, stupid or whatever else gets levelled at "Keane lovers".

The ONE player the team need right now and until the end of the season is US!

COYB ...

As always brilliant support away from Home . . . Portman Rd can join in anytime it wants, too quiet for my likings - the only thing that catches the ear is the odd idiot shouting abuse at a player putting a slight foot out of place!

KEANE TOOK OVER SUNDERLAND and they were near bottom. They then went on a brilliant run and ended up champions. yes there were some PL class players left after relegation on a very low points tally ( like derby) so why cant he replicate it .He has similar back room staff and mc parland did well at notts county , helping. I just cant understand why he hasnt got it together. But he has wasted most of 8 mill and chopped and changed magiltons legacy too much .

I agree with you corsham, but I also think there is a difference between the way away supporters act away and the way those same supporters act at home. I never hear any attempt to sing horto magiko etc in the north stand...

What evidience apart from pulling the duvet over your head & crossing your fingers have you seen this season that makes you think Keane will win enough games to save us?? He has never delivered.

SouperJim added 10:48 - Feb 18
Why can't you have a reasoned debate without making derogatory comments?

It's ludicrous to suggest we've not seen any good football from our team this season.

Reality check - we have only LOST 9 games this season, only 5 clubs have lost less!! It is a tight league, anyone can beat anyone.

Keep positive everyone, the promised land is around the corner.

It's interesting that so many people who've been against Keane have been claiming they're such injured parties and had derogatory comments made against them, but then are doing the same here today. Funny eh...

Just to be clear, I'm not a Keane "fan" and was very uncertain about his appointment. I have tried to keep an open mind on him, but results are results and you cannot argue that he has managed us to where we are today and has take responsibility - which to be fair to him, I think he does - I don't see him trying to blame anyone else (like Mr Wenger for example).

I don't deride the anti-Keane element on here as they are entitled to their view and I believe that they only want what is best for the club.

A new manager may keep us up - RK may keep us up. None of us know that for certain, or we'd be millionaires, able to predict the future.

I just wish I knew what ME was thinking right now....

COYB!

Jim Gannon has got 6 points from 3 games for Peterboro. Would they have been better staying with that numpty Cooper who got 1 win in 14 games? Let's ask their fans. Keano has never got it going. He should get going.
