Lisbie Joins Millwall
Lisbie Joins Millwall
Wednesday, 28th Jul 2010 15:25

As reported yesterday, out-of-favour striker Kevin Lisbie has joined Millwall on a season-long loan.

The frontman, who has a year left on his Town contract, is delighted to be back in London where most of his family are based: "I have got quite a big family, so I try to keep as close as possible to London and it's a perfect move for me really.

"I've missed a couple of days training because we have been sorting this out, but I'm eager to get back into it and play on Saturday against Hearts.

"Maybe if I hadn't gone to Colchester last year then I wouldn't have got this opportunity to play back in the Championship, so it has all worked out well for me."

Recently, Lisbie has been training with Town's youth team.

Good news. I wish it could have been done as buying out his contract (for the amount of his wages we are presumably still paying) and him signing at Millwall (for the fraction they are paying). A clean break would be better. (Except, of course, it would have allowed Lisbie to score hattricks against us home and away.)

What a terrible buy he was and no doubt we are still paying some of his wages too.

Would say Millwall are pay a big part of his wages so it will free up some money to pay players coming in

good!! not sad that your going Lisbie. At first I did feel bad as I didn't think you got the chances you needed but then you opened your mouth and said the things you did.

Just heard Walters could be on his way and that 2.5m is too good to refuse for a player like Walters. What do you think?
I wouldn't mind seeing Peters on the right with edwards as back up.
And acouple of RB's as Peters isn't a RB

Lisbie was a complete and utter waste of money and thank heavens he has gone. I suspect Millwall will only pay part of his ludicrous salary though, which is a pity as selling him would have been a better option if only for a few quid.

As of Lisbie - it didn't go well here for him but that happens... Good luck to him!

I believe his contract is up at the end of this season, so thankfully we'll never see him in a Town shirt again.

I hope one of the clauses in the loan contract states that he has to play in both matches against us this season, 'cos he really is utter tosh!

So we've still got to pay his wages or a percentage, sound like a bum deal. I hope it's a no fee, 100% wage loan?? anyone know ???

This must be the first news story I have read on here where we all share the same view - just hope Lisbie reads what we all think of him and never returns.

That was 3/4 of a mil well spent wasn't it?

Priskin must be at least twice as good as Lisbie at £1.7 mil ..... doh!
