QPR Club Making New Move for Walters
QPR Club Making New Move for Walters
Tuesday, 17th Aug 2010 12:26

QPR are again reported to be the club from outside the Premier League who have made an offer for ex-skipper Jon Walters. The Hoops are understood to be ready to pay more than £3 million for the 26-year-old, although appear yet to meet the Blues’ valuation which is nearer £4 million.

Neil Warnock’s club, who were previously reported to have offered the Blues £2.5 million for the former Chester man, are also said to be unwilling to meet Walters’s current terms at Town, which have two years to run.

The player is in any case less than certain to accept a move to London with Walters and his wife long understood to want a return to the north. Stoke City appears their preferred destination with West Brom also interested and Middlesbrough linked earlier today.

Walters, who sold his house in Suffolk earlier in the year, is also reported to have made a complaint to the club regarding bullying by Keane, a claim which is believed to have been dismissed.

The Republic of Ireland B international is also said to have been the player who recently refused to keep to his contracted media commitments, failing to take part in a Sky Sports interview with two team-mates while wearing a Town shirt. Keane refused to confirm the identity of the player involved when asked last week.

Over the weekend, in the wake of Friday’s bust-up, the Town manager said he was hoping that Walters, his one-time blue-eyed boy, could be moved on sooner rather than later: “We hope a deal can be done quickly, but we’ve heard that one before and until we get the fee we’re happy with it’ll drag on a little bit longer.”

This is getting beyond a joke i thought the main reason walters wanted to leave was because of his mrs feeling homesick so unless he plans to do that long journey to london from the north west bearing in mind warnock does not have silly rule bout living two yards from training ground! Then i see no reason why he would go there. And for crying out loud Keane sign Jason Roberts blackburn want him out walters can go there in exchange and we get bit of cash we have already missed out on mccormick, chopra, ambrose, sinclair, koren, simone jackson the list is endless we can still get simpson from Arsenal cleverley from utd for f*** sake!

Its annoying when you see players like Bellamy going to Cardiff when they are in such debt and he's on 50k a week. Having said that if Mccormack goes it frees up some money to pay part of his wages. I doubt Cardiff are even paying anywhere near half his wages though and Man City have just got rid of him to the first club that Bellamy wanted to play for. Surprised he chose them though.

Regardless of that Walters clearly isn't going to play for Town again and its turned into a sorry state of affairs and for a change it seems like most of us are on Keanes side. Last season was his worst for us anyway.

Anything over 3 mill lets take it, but seems we want more!

If we can get anything close to £4m, I would be delighted. Anything close to that sort of money would be able to buy us a far, far better player. I would love it if he went to QPR because it was the only option - it would serve him right for the way he has handled things!!

Sixto.....what a player. Talking to the some of the first teamers at that time, they thought he was the most skillful player at the club by a country mile.

At best Walters is devious and manipulative , at worst a henpecked hubby. Lets throw a sickie, demand a move up north cos the wife cant settle, or sign for QPR. Jon you have let us down as is your right but don't go round blaming the club. Just go.

colonel, agree with them. Most skillfull players have up and down attitude, but he was 100% dedicated to the club. Probably too old now though.

Bellamy back to help Cardiff out?.....I wonder if Benty might come to help us?
