Crystal Palace are set to complete the loan signing of Town striker Pablo Couñago later today, according to reports in south London. News of the Eagles' loan move for the Spaniard first broke yesterday.

If the season-long deal is completed before the weekend as is expected, the 31-year-old is still unlikely to be involved against the Blues on Saturday.

Couñago, who was brought into English football by Palace boss George Burley in 2001 when he was at Town, has fallen out of favour with current manager Roy Keane and was unlikely to be involved with the Blues again. The ex-Celta Vigo and Malaga man's contract is up at the end of the season.

Yesterday, Palace signed former Town academy schoolboy Stuart O'Keefe from Southend United.

Sibo .. you have been saying for a number of weeks about how signings are immenent still nothing , a number of players have gone and our starting line up includes the likes of Healy , Peters still out of position IMO and a bench full of youth players none of which are upto championship standard again IMO .
Like Wigan are doing with Scotland surely you get new players in before getting rid of a number of your squad players and then you dont leave yourself with a paper thin team after a few injuries .
.Wright,Wright,Bruce,Balkenstein,Lisbie,Martin,Trotter,Garvan ,Walters,Counago and Stead maybe all gone nearly a team and Fulop and Kennedy in the numbers do not add up ,and signings should have been completed by now .
And Jas0999 stop telling supporters to support another club because they disagree with your opnion or what Keane does on some issues it is very childish and if all did so we would have less crowds at home games ,oh no that is already happening . Why dont you take a good look at our squad and see the depth in quality is nowhere near what it has been and we are pinning a lot of hope on a number of youngsters and a few key players . Even Wickham and Civelli are unproven , i fear the money may not be there ,which is why we have had a mass clearout and our ticket prices are 4th highest in the country even above MAn Utd!! I hope i am wrong but we need new faces in now like QPR have done majority sorted in pre season
