Tuesday, 21st Dec 2010 16:34

Town duo David Norris and Jason Scotland have been named in the Championship Team of the Week for their performances in the 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Saturday. Norris opened the scoring with top scorer Scotland adding his sixth and seventh of the season before the break to seal the win.

It’s the first time that the Blues have had anyone named in the division’s select XI since the first week of November when Gareth McAuley was included after the 2-1 win at Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, winger Andros Townsend’s loan with the Blues has officially ended from today, the Tottenham man having already returned to his parent club http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=17550&title=townsend_to_return_to_tottenh his spell was cut short.

Team of the Week: Kasper Schmeichel — Leeds United, Chris Gunter - Nottingham Forest, Luke Chambers - Nottingham Forest, Kyle Bartley - Sheffield United, Andy Taylor - Sheffield United, Max Gradel — Leeds United, Brian Stock — Doncaster Rovers, David Norris — Ipswich Town, Robert Snodgrass — Leeds United, Jason Scotland — Ipswich Town, Grant Holt — Norwich City.

Well done to David and Jason.

I think Townsend was a little unfortunate not to play more, as he was often substituted or dropped when I thought he was looking a real threat. Probably the best of our loanees this season, so it is disappointing to have his season-long loan cut short.

I agree about giving O'Connor a proper chance on the left of midfield, although I suspect Keane will revert to playing Colback there next match. So often a player does well and is then dropped for the next match, Priskin against Barnsley and Peters against West Brom being recent examples.

how does RK have a soft spot for Shane as he has hardly figured all season and agree with Mark you have a good game or maybe two and you are punished and dropped I can see why Priskin didnt perform when he came off the bench at Preston for several games he wasour best player on the pitch and yet dropped for why I consider to be a second rate striker that can't even make the team in a poor league 1 team

O'Connor offers us more than Andy Townsend, desire, commitment and a burning will to play. And he's our player!

Well done both but why no o Connor? Agree that its a shame townsend gone, but if that means he is making way for o Connor great if however colback is chosen left mid id not be happy. Did like norris on the right though
