Ainsley Back at Town
Ainsley Back at Town
Friday, 24th Dec 2010 08:55

Defender Jack Ainsley has returned from his loan spell at Blue Square Bet Premier side Histon. The 20-year-old is amongst the 21 players who are out of contract at the end of the season.

Manager Roy Keane says Ainsley needs to show his worth in the months to come: “Jack came back the other day. He falls into the category with lots of other players whose contracts are up. Jack will have to keep his head down and work hard every day like any player.”

Ainsley made only three appearances during his month with the Cambridgeshire side and was on the losing team each time.

Where does it say he can't get into the side you idiot??

They had a lot of games potponed i believe, so again when Ainsley goes on loan he gets stitched up! Hopefully Roy will give him chance to prove himself before the end of the season.

Not many local young lads left at the club!

shows how much you lot know about footbal...

DAVID Livermore believes teenage loanee Jack Ainsley has a bright future in the game.

Ipswich youngster Ainsley was due to play his last game for the Stutes on Saturday, but the club's game at Altrincham was postponed due a frozen pitch at Moss Lane.

He will now return to the Tractor Boys when his loan expires on Wednesday, but Livermore said: “The finger was pointed at Jack after his debut [at Luton] when he made a couple of mistakes, but he's kept his head up and I think that shows what a good young player he is.

“We all make mistakes, but it's how we learn from them that matters, and his attitude has been spot on and that will only bode well for him in his future career.

“I think his time here has been a steep learning curve for him, because it's been different to the kind of football he's played at youth and reserve level. But I don't doubt he will go on to have a good career.”

I never fail to be surprised about how little town fans know about players

Jack is a local lad who is a converted striker, to Centre back or full and has a lot of promise

Why don't you stop your moaning and support one of the few local players on our
books

Seen him quite abit in the reserves - The lad is a good all round footballer who has played up front midfield and at the back
I think he has a good future but again depends on how he is handled by our uber man Manager RK ....
