Lee-Barrett Signs Deal
Lee-Barrett Signs Deal
Thursday, 12th May 2011 12:45

Keeper Arran Lee-Barrett put pen to paper on his new two-year contract this morning, having agreed terms with the Blues last week. The former academy schoolboy returned to his hometown club as a replacement for the retiring Shane Supple in August 2009.

The 27-year-old was delighted to commit himself to Town until 2013: “Obviously I’m very pleased to have sorted my future out here. It’s a great football club and it’s good to be part of the squad going forward.

“Like any player who is coming to the end of their contract, it’s always at the back of your mind what is going to happen.

“I’ve been in a similar situation before and that experience helped me deal with it this time, but a lot of it is out of your control. You just focus on the football and trying to prove you deserve a new contract.

“That’s what has pleased me, that the manager sees me as part of his plans and has given me the two years.”

Those paper clips that SC has been monitoring have obviously been put to good use if this picture is anything to go by

Clegg looks reluctant over this signing in the pic! Bet he wishes it was McAuley or Norris...

Lay off Clegg, he's been suffering with a cold recently, I do hope ALB doesn't catch it.............

Below average keeper. Good shot-stopper, but flaps and poor in the air/kicking. Concerned that PJ is going to rely on Fulop/ALB. Murphy would have been a better choice IMO.

What ALB don't know is he signing for timeshare for yearly holidays in Norfolk broads ! I think he is lucky to get 2 year deal, 1 year and 3rd choice on minimal wage seems ok.

Fulop is the number one keeper and best we had at club since Alexander and briefly begovic

waste of time, money and effort. he is a shocking keeper with no sense of positioning.

Behind_Enemy_Lines: I get the joke! But in view of all the misleading info. we've been fed ever since the takeover, I don't reckon anyone associated with the club (certainly not PJ) would be rash enough to say, "We're going to sign..." Much more likely: "We hope to...," "With any luck...," "We're waiting to hear back from..." "Of course you never know what happens in football, but..." etc. etc. Personally, I'm 95% immune to all these rumours by now. (Not like in the Burley days when names appeared out of nowhere and actually sometimes went down on paper.) I'd even decided not to look at TWTD for a whole week to see if anything was in fact different when I came back - I managed to last out just over half a day. Oh well... must have been that final 5%'s gullibility that did it.I guess I'll be back tomorrow too. COYB!

He's pants. Never good enough to play at this level i hope he gets nowhere near our first team next season.

He's been a good back-up before and he will be again. A couple of poor games (when the whole team couldn't be bothered to play) don't make him a bad goalie.

Also one of 'ours' from the Academy - which all of you usually think is so important.

Pleased to see he's signed.

I wonder if Lee_Barrett camped out all night to be first into the office, so Clegg couldn't escape and slip out the back...
We've had Le Pen, Alan Lee, now Lee-Barrett
they say things come in three's

Perhaps what we really need now is some-one to give us a bit of 'Leeway'
