Lisbie Joins Orient
Lisbie Joins Orient
Friday, 9th Sep 2011 16:50

Former Blue Kevin Lisbie has joined Leyton Orient on a four-month short-term contract. The 32-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Millwall, was released by the Blues at the end of the last campaign.

Lisbie had previously turned down the chance to join League Two sides Gillingham and Southend United earlier in the summer.

Thought he could get a good contract at a championship club, gets four months in league one.

Ha ha - what a tool Lisbie is.

All summer he has been gobbling off saying how good he is and he ends up there on a short term contract. Seems nobody else shares the opinion he has of himself !!

Unless I'm mistaken, his first game will be away at Colchester :-)

Other than Mrs. Lisbie and his bank manager nobody else is really bothered ...

A 4 month deal in League One is better than a one year deal in League Two.
He will get better money for those 4 months.

After that, he will either get that contract extended, or he will get a short term contract from a League Two side who are prepared to take a chance.

So, Id say hes up on the deal.

Jim's worst signing by far. Rightly released.

Why would Orient still want to sign him after he released a statement saying he was too good for them? Surely thats the easiest way to destroy team morale.

Probably not a popular view on here, but i'm quite happy to see lisbie find a new club. He's a decent player. Things didn't work out for him at town, and he wasn't exactly given a fair go by keane. So his not-so-popular comments must be seen in light of keane(much like walters). Town were right to release him, but that doesn't stop me from wishing him well in his further career.

Why the vitriol towards him? He's done us no harm, he just wasn't terribly successful with us.That's hardly a crime.

so jas0999 he was jims worst signing? maybe, maybe not. maybe the problem was that lisbie is a player who is quick, plays off a targetman, flicking the ball on to him to run in behind the defence. what did jim & roy expect him to do? play with his back to goal, to hold the ball up. no wonder he was rubbish. of course, it has to be said he had a bad attitude at times, & didnt look like he was trying at times, & that the only problem i had with him, & of course it was right to release him but that doesnt mean he is a bad player, or he was a bad signing. remember, the previous season at col u, hed totally destroyed us when playing his correct role.

Finidi George88. What the hell was wrong with samassi abou? He was a fantastic loan signing for the club. As for Lisbie, waste of space.
