Carson Set to Sign Soon
Carson Set to Sign Soon
Thursday, 19th Jan 2012 17:49

Blues boss Paul Jewell says he hopes midfielder Josh Carson will sign his new contract in the next week or so. The Northern Irish international has been offered a two-year deal with an option for a third season.

Jewell said: “Hopefully we can get that tied up in the next week or so. I spoke to his agent Kevin Moran last night, hopefully he spoke with Marcus and we can get it sorted.

“Josh is 18 and he’s getting better. He’s had his peaks and troughs and we’d like to tie him down.”

Aside from Carson and Ronan Murray, who has penned his new one-year contract, and Luke Hyam, who is weighing up his one-season offer, Jewell says there’s not been much new progress: “There’s no change from last week. It’s not easy to manage the situation with so many people out of contract but the economic world is tough out there and football has to come in line as well.

“There’ll be a lot of people who are out of contract in the summer, from all clubs, who will be surprised how tough it is out there.”

Hopefully his agent spoke to Marcus? So basically we don't know what is going on do we? What is Cleggs role in all this?
Complete and utter shambles.
As for football coming in line with the rest of the economy?..Maybe PJ will take minimum wage until he starts to perform

It will be a relief. I haven't been able to enjoy Carson's performances properly this season due to the contract issue. We must try harder to ensure our star youngsters are put on long term deals (I understand others who may need to prove themselves on one year deals, but the gems such as Carson and before him Wickham, Rhodes etc. should never be allowed to enter their final year).

Probably the best bit of contract news we've had as a club for a very long time.
A fantastic young player, with a very bright future ahead of him, hopefully he'll spend a good few more years playing with Ipswich Town.

The lad also needs to be playing on a regular basis.

What news, he has'nt signed just as Andrews, SSL and Billy Sharp have'nt signed, just when will people wake up on here and recognise the club for the disorganised shambles that it is.

In other words Carson's waiting to see if anyone else offers him a better deal..

We are so slow at sorting this sort of thing out at Ipswich..wouldn't be at all surprised if he leaves.

BIG wake up call needed at ITFC.
