Wallace Will Stay at Falkirk
Wallace Will Stay at Falkirk
Thursday, 26th Jan 2012 15:52

Falkirk defender Murray Wallace will return to his current club on loan for the remainder of the season whether he decides to join Town, Brighton or Huddersfield, the Bairns are reported to have confirmed.

All three clubs have agreed a fee of £300,000 plus add-ons with the Scottish League Division One side and are set to hold talks with the player.

Swansea, Charlton, Norwich and Newcastle are also understood to have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old former Rangers trainee.

Meanwhile, boss Paul Jewell admits frustrations regarding the convoluted and slow nature of doing transfer business these days: “We’re against the clock now and I understand we need to bring players in to help the group we’ve got.

“I’m concerned, but it’s not like we’ve just decided last week that we need players. We’ve been trying really hard to bring people in, but transfers are so long and drawn out these days.

“They take up so much energy and, to be honest, include so much bull. I get really tired of it.”

Neil Warnock might not want him next season

Don't know much about this lad but has had some good reviews! Although I don't trust Jewell I certainly trust Poyet and Clark's judgement so the lad must have potential. Either one, preferably the former is welcome to manage this club anytime especially if he brings Ricco with him. Agree we need players now and he is one for the future. Mind you he won't come here, Brighton and Huddersfield on are the way up! Getting really concerned and time is running out! Just hope we have other targets when Pompey sell to someone else

Rather have Gromit

What is the point in this?!? Rather see the money put towards a Catergory 1 academy, now that would be building for the future.

We need defenders in to play for us now, or the drop awaits.

I reckon a couple of CB's from a local league side would be better than the shower of s*** in the PR defence right now (Cresswell excluded!)

One simple question. What would you do if you were Wallace?
He is 19, hungry for first team football and wants the very best for his future. Whoever he signs for, he's not there till next season.
He looks at Brighton. They will be in the Championship next season for sure. There is an outside chance (very slim) that if he joins them he could be playing Premier League Football next season (an exciting hope for a young lad).
He looks at Huddersfield. Very good chance of them being Championship next season. If not, League 1.
He looks at Ipswich. Precariously close to relegation. Right on the edge. 50/50 chance of League 1 football next season.
He's a young lad not a journeyman. Lets be honest, who would you take?
I'd take Brighton.

Difficult deal for Paul Jewell as well. He needs players now to fight in the fight of our lives at the bottom of this league. Its like a depleted army (collins, andrews, lavery, priskin, o'connor, ingimarrson) all gone. All we've managed to sign so far is a GK.
I feel sorry for Jewell. What a mess! Have to agree about the whole McKeowngate incident too. According to reports Mckeown is one of the best young defenders in Scottish football. I blame Hutchings rather than Jewell. Part of his job description means he gives advice to Jewell about the young players from the academy. His advice was flawed. He's also in charge of coaching. The guy should be axed.

How are people feeling Sorry for jewell. Here are the facts:-

He brought in Hutchins and McCarthy
He said he didn't need a fitness coach at the start of the season then decides he does. He said a captain is not important.
He signed bowyer
He signed Ellington ( how he got a 2 year deal god only knows)
He signed Chopra knowing his problems
He signed bullard who hasnt delivered.
He signed duty then loaned him out

His team selections, tactics and team.

We were 6th and he has taken us to 21st. This is all is all doing and now he is desperate because he has failed and can't attract players.

It's not bad luck we have thrown away so many leads. The buck stops with the manager who is just not good enough.

As I have said, put his record at derby with this at itfc and its shocking reading.

If you want PR have less than 10,000 season ticket holders jewell will do that.

He is not cut out for this job and we need someone who is.

Garv, everyone entitled to an opinion and perhaps the truth hurts. Have been going to PR for 32 years and have seen the good the bad and the ugly and this fella us the worst manager we have had.

Paying over £400 for a season ticket and with the money spent you expect some sort of a return. I am sure I am not the only one who has had enough if jewell.

Let's see where he takes us and hope he proves us wrong.
