Everton Bid for Sigurdarson
Everton Bid for Sigurdarson
Friday, 25th May 2012 12:06

Everton have launched a bid for Iceland international striker Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson that is likely to end Ipswich's interest in the player.

Goodison boss David Moyes has tabled an offer that would be worth a maximum of £3 million to Norwegian club Lillestrom if he is successful in England.

Even though that is less than Lillestrom’s £4 million valuation it is unlikely that Town would be able to match it.

Three other Premier League clubs — Sunderland, Fulham and newly-promoted Reading — are also on the trail of 21-year-old Sigurdarson, who has scored 11 goals in as many games for his club this season.

All were represented, along with Wolves, at Lillestrom’s goalless draw with Aalesunds on Thursday, with new Molineux boss Stale Solbakken making a personal check on a player he has admitted he would love to sign.

Thought Everton were skint? Oh well, this time next year we will have cash to splash 'cos we'll be in the Premier League. COYB!

I hope that our Scandinavian scout isn't being followed by these scoundrels game after game.

Must be really disappointing to go all the way over to Iceland to watch a player and then meet David Moyes at the airport!

Oh well at least my missus will be happy.
Woodford tim they're not skint they just run their club properly and don't pay over the odds and stupid wages.

"Woodford tim they're not skint they just run their club properly and don't pay over the odds and stupid wages."?

No, Everton have no money because they spend far more than they bring in. Which is why they want a takeover.

Everton sold Arteta, their best player, to Arsenal and he had to take a pay cut to join them. That should tell you everything- a club with little money sell their star player to an affluent club in the Champions League and he has to take a reduction in wages?! When does that ever happen?

Why go after some one we have no chance of ever signing? Once the big fish were sniffing it was over for town oncea a bid was made which was almost inevitable.

Perhaps we were really looking at another Lillestrom player, as I can't think we'd ever sign a £4M valued striker. At least we are scouting overseas now, as so far under Keane and Jewell we haven't signed a single player from outside the UK and Ireland!

As Clegg has said there will not be any £3 million pound signings, I would say we were only ever going to sign him as a season long loan

Petter Vaagan might be the least poor player at Lillestrøm.. although I dont think we are after him. Atleast i dont hope so

Hey.. If our scouts already are in Norway. It's probably worth a look at Haugesund striker Nikola Djurdic. I think he's quality. Also Aleksander Soderlund is a hot prospect to from the same club!

Maybe you are correct about Vaagan, Sindre... I understand that he is primarily a left winger? And has some experience from the English game already...

Vaagan moen is no use at our left wing! He is hardly a decent "tippeliga" player, and that league is awful compared to the championship or even league one!

France is where the bargains are to be had...strange how Newcastle have suddenly moved forward isn't it.

Pretty daft looking at players who are £3m/4m! can get a keeper and two good centre backs with that!

@Daniel

Ok. Don't know much about the class of the Norwegian league other than its where a lot of half mediocre Swedish players end up and make a lot of kronor for a few years. Maybe we should have a look in the Swedish league instead?

Norway dont have a Zlatan or Elmander..
We wont sign Vaagan Moen, hes just the only other OK player at Lillestrøm
