Duo Unavailable for Aston Villa Tie
Wednesday, 2nd Jan 2013 12:20

Town have confirmed that they will be without loanees Stephen Henderson and Bradley Orr for Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at Aston Villa. Neither West Ham nor Blackburn have given permission for their players to be involved in the competition.

The Blues’ season-long loanees Daryl Murphy and Guirane N’Daw are both available, while DJ Campbell, who is expected to play for QPR in their tie against West Brom, Danny Higginbotham, who signed for Sheffield United yesterday, and Bilel Mohsni have now left the club.

The absence of Henderson is likely to see Scott Loach return to the side with Arran Lee-Barrett coming into the squad as sub keeper.

Elliott Hewitt looks set to make his first start at right-back in place of Orr, while Michael Chopra will come into the side in Campbell’s absence.

Manager Mick McCarthy may well make other changes, perhaps handing Luke Hyam and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas starts.

Midfielder Andy Drury is a doubt having missed yesterday's game after picking up a virus, while recent signing Tyrone Mings is cup-tied having played in the early stages of the competition.

Villa's main threat is Benteke, against Swansea he scored one and assisted the other for Weimann so I think to an extent if we keep him quiet we will keep them quiet. I'm no manager but Maybe its worth man-marking him with one of our bigger lads like N'Daw, and then the same kind of thing for set pieces. they always look to him and I feel if we keep him in check then it will frustrate Villa.

Do you think Benteke will start? I don't suppose they have much of a squad apart from the first team.

I feel they will because they are not high on confidence, they got a decent result last game but they will want to build on it by beating us which will boost them for there up and coming league games, they could do without a replay and despite them being in the semi of the Capital one cup I feel losing to us will just increase the tension aroud there club at the moment. it would be wise to have a plan to deal with him, besides if they don't start him then surely that can only be a bonus for us.

Great chance for Loach here, one mistake was all it took for him to be dropped after all. Now Henderson has made a mistake and Loach gets a chance, maybe he'll do well enough to warrant a stay in the starting lineup
