Hull Latest Club Linked With Campbell
Thursday, 17th Jan 2013 18:40

Hull City are the latest club reported to have made a move for ex-Blues loanee DJ Campbell.

Town boss Mick McCarthy has said the Blues are still chasing the 31-year-old, while Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has confirmed his interest, while Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers have also been linked.

Tigers manager Steve Bruce is said to have joined Town and Palace in making an approach regarding Campbell, who has been given the go-ahead to leave Loftus Road, having previously targeted Sunderland’s Fraizer Campbell, who is expected to sign for Cardiff.

Most lucrative 3 year deal will land him.

Prem football wont be too much of a concern for him, he is surplus to requirements to the Prems bottom club as it is.

Much better to be playing and scoring regularly in the Champ, as he will do wherever he goes. Think he may well come on board to join MM.

As much as I loved his short loan, i sort of wished it didnt happen and we signed him pearmantly now as we would have a much greater chance of getting him. His loan with us interested clubs such as palace and hull now they are all after him.

Best of luck to Campbell wherever he goes, and best of luck to McGoldrick at Ipswich!

we shouldn't get pulled into an auction and end up paying too much , bearing in mind his age , there are other parts of the team , in particular the midfield , that we need to spend money on .

MM is building a team for the future and his signings need to be playing to develop , with MM in charge , things are looking up at last

We won't get DJ due to all these deadweights we've brought in. Good luck where ever you end up.

Good luck mate. Let's move on. Hopefully chasing DJ will keep Steve Bruce's focus away from Moses at Orient. He can supply our three new forwards.

if it happens good if it dosent no biggy we have enough fire power at this club our problem is getting any decent ball to them on a very consistent level thats where our money should be going

Suspect DJ has got wind of the reported better shops in 'Ull compared to Ipswich, cos for some reason the Yorkshire cityhas miraculously avoided this Coutnry's current recession!

All MM has to do is give him a garunteed start and I think he will sign for us then I think we need to sign Murphy permanently then our attack is sorted

I appreciate the fact that he's 31 and may want one last big payday, but he doesn't strike me as this is the be all and end all for him. Remember he turned olly down once and he may do again! I'm pessimistic as well as being a realist but I dnt think we are out of this yet! Palace have a way of playing and will they drop Murray-I doubt it! The same can be said of hull with the strikers they have! He knows he will be in the side here and mick will be a big factor if u ask me! Mick keeps his mouth shut and he was instrumental in getting the best out of DJ! This business about location is s...e and wen I last drove to London it was 1 and half hours away! C'mon Dj we still need you even with our new young strikers. Dj's experience will still be vital

i'm not that fussed either way, we have other priorities now.
If I was DJ though Ipswich would be my choice, he fit in well here, might not elsewhere. At his age its last chance to make a serious impact somewhere

We know his track record with us, but surely there is life beyond DJ if we don't manage to get him, in the form of our new, young, hungry strikers who will be out to prove themselves as capable. He hasn't always been on the prolific score sheet, hence he was with us on loan and not banging them in regularly for QPR. Nothings to say he won't go off the boil even if he did join us. A sensible contract, not part of a dutch auction surely. Besides Mick and Co know his true worth beyond question. Just my opinion guys.
