Campbell: It Was a Pleasure
Friday, 18th Jan 2013 15:34

Former Blues loanee DJ Campbell has said it was a pleasure to play for Town. The 31-year-old is set to join another club on a three-year deal from QPR with Crystal Palace and Hull City both having confirmed their interest.

Campbell tweeted: “To all Ipswich fans it was a pleasure to play for Ipswich! It’s a shame I couldn't stay long-term but I truly wish you all the best. God bless you all.”

The striker scored 10 goals in a 17-game, three-month loan spell at Portman Road.

All the very best DJ, thank you for all you did for ITFC. Your goals have given us points and a breathing space, time for promising new strikers to bed in to a revitalised team.

itfcjc, get over yourself, didnt have to be mystic meg to figure that we would struggle to sign him permanently as soon as he started scoring goals for us!

For me, I would like to say a huge thankyou, god knows were we would be without his goals and points as a result.

I think the loan has worked out for all parties, he's got a move as a result of his success here and, with his goals, we have managed to move out of the bottom 3.

itfcjc......kesgrave 57 got slammed as well, and he was also right like your good self.

Ok he scored the goals for us, however he's 31 and his not the future for ITFC.
I'm not slating him as I think DJ Campball is up there as 1 of our best ever loan signings we have ever had.

Good Luck to you DJ , but Bring on Nouble, and McGoldrick and I know he's 29 I hope Aaron Mclean rediscover his goal scoring form for which he had a Peterborough.

Yep best of luck DJ - couldn't see him returning either soon as he started banging in goals regularly for us, nice to see a consistent score - something that has happened for a number of seasons, and one of the few loans to date that has reaped benefits.

MM obviously had a feeling this was the case and moved to fix the problem a couple of weeks ago. Great management IMO and I for one am quite excited about who he's brought on board.

And if we can use the money we've saved on DJs fee and wages to bring in one or two of the midfielders we've been linked with (Wordsworth/Forrester) then I think its actually a pretty shrewd move and i'll be a very happy boy!

"Mark me down but,Boring now time to move on with who we have and whoever we might actually bring in...."

Do you think that in some way this piece is at the expense of another story then?

If you're so disinterested how about not reading it and not subjecting us to your boring take on the whole non-event?

All about the money I'm afraid wish him well and all that but their is no sentiment in football these days, he has no affinity to Ipswich.
