Barnsley Confirm Scotland Signing
Monday, 28th Jan 2013 13:24

Barnsley have confirmed that they have signed former Blue Jason Scotland on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Scotland said: "I'm looking forward to getting back to playing football. Everyone is really positive here. I'm going to try and bring more goals to this team."

The 33-year-old's Blues contract, which was up at the end of the season, was settled earlier this month.

Scotland is laughing, with his contract paid up here and now finding another Championship club.

Barnsley are laughing, a low risk signing with affordable wages on a short term basis to see how he does.

The only ones not laughing are ITFC, especially if Scotland fires the goal to keep Barnsley up and send us down.

Neither Damien Delaney or Jason Scotland had ANY problem signing for another Championship club once we kicked them out. Not content with PAYING players to leave that other clubs want, we take a fortnight to sign anyone we DO want. I worry. I really worry. Whats happened to us........

You seriously have to question how clegg and Evans are running the club. Best wishes to Jason though.

As long as it's not at our expense, I hope Scotland does well for them. I've always thought Scotland was spot on with his attitude, commitment and eye for goal; can't understand why we never gave him more opportunities.
Has McLean been recalled by Hull? If so, even more reason to rue Scotland's departure.

Agree with you Jason0999 - Barnsley and Jason both outright winners - ourselves (has to be said) - the complete reverse.

Are we really to have 'confidence' irrespective of Manager - for the future short, medium, or long term ?

Lots of Questions ?? - again, whoever the Manager.

COYB - somehow we must have, and retain - FAITH.

..... nothing much has changed in 5 years - other than the face behind the Manager's desk ...... slag me off - but it's true unfortunately.

But is it Evans and Clegg ???????? - I really do not know anymore !!!!!!!!!

I believe the problem with our signing of permanent players is money, and I am seriously worried that ME no longers has any. ME's main business is corporate events and such like, I think with the financial world as it is; he hasn't got the money to really expand the club and gain the signings we need to go forward. In hard times companies look to cut expenses, sometimes detrimentally. The first thing they cut is advertising as it's expensive, and corporate events is a form of advertising. I only hope I'm wrong. Long live MM and ITFC!!!!

dont you all think it is time the club came out and stated its policy long term plans etc like the rest of you the money wasting alarms me. scotland for me is at least as good asmclean or noble and this constant delay in signings is also very odd. i just hope scotland doesnt keep them up and us down
